Just took delivery of a remarkable instrument from Kelvin Daly and am over the moon (photos are from Kelvin's shop when he was voicing the bass, so the knobs weren't on yet)! The looks of the instrument are one thing, but the feel is like an extension of your own body, completely tailored to fit. I've not ever played anything close. Balance is perfect, neck profile fits the hand, the whole instrument feels completely organic. No fight in it at all. Some instrument!

What a wild looking bass! The matched cover on the back is brilliant. How was the green applied and can you feel it?
I believe the green is resin that the builder (Tom Martinson) filled in the natural cracks of the slab of walnut that he used for the top, but I'm not 100% sure that's correct. Might have to ask Tom how he does it, he sells the basses on his Facebook. Would recommend a look, he makes some really amazing looking basses. I know he has some middling reviews here on TB, but this one I got from him is pretty great. It's sanded smooth with a semi-satin finish so you can't feel it at all.

Certainly looks like resin!
