when i pick my jaw up off the floor....im gonna say you have a very nice collection there....and i hate you

For some reason I really like the last one. Maybe it's all those purrty knobs and stuff. And well, it looks like something entwistle would play! or did.
That is the best Elan I have ever seen!

It's been a busy 9 months of buying and selling for me, so it's about time that I updated my "family portrait" 
.
Here's what I had in May last year ...
... and here's what I have now (only the '77 ash StingRay and the black 'n' maple '75 P Bass made it past the cut
).
No doubt, many of you will have preferred the basses that I've sold to the ones that I have now, but at least I get on well with all of the current ones

brredstik--I recognize the Fenders in the back and the Gibsons in the front, but would you mind telling me what all the other beauties in between are?
Fender32, I'll never understand how you let that Wal (with extra fretless neck) go. None-the-less, still a stunning collection.

Here's the first bass I put together - Warmoth gecko 5-string, walnut on alder body, birdseye maple neck, ebony fretboard, SD basslines active pickups. Deep and fruity; like a big dundee cake, err, down a well. Sort of.
smae here - but nice collection anyways, and I'm glad you're happy with it.
Al - what kind of bridge is on that gecko? looks interesting.

. That Sadowsky isn't getting the playing time that it deserves, I have to admit 
. I find the change to 5 strings much harder than I thought it would be, more from a "mental" perspective than a physical one. Thing is, it sounds so damn horny through my MB amp, that I just have to persevere with it .It was a US vintage reissue. Lovely tone, but I found that nitro neck lacquer really sticky against my hand and thought I'd try and get a relic without any lacquer on the back of the neck, instead of "vandalisng" my existing P
. As it turned out, I got distracted by that Custom Shop '55 relic and snapped it up. That has nitro neck lacquer too, but for some reason, it's not quite as sticky as the other one 
.I did it mainly because I needed the money for moving to another country - now, I'm not going
. Doh! Besides, most of my "bass money" was tied up in that thing and wanted to scratch "the Sadowsky itch" .High praise indeed Mikey, thanks man
! It's still my most played bass, by far. The finish on that Status neck is just perfect for me, really smooth and comfortable, even with very sweaty hands. It plays like a dream too, even when unplugged it's loud enough for home practise. Someone should produce these commercially, IMHO .
