I love the Cort/Elrick :bassist:. Is it the Josh Paul signature. There's a red one (with rosewood f/board) for sale at my local music store. They didn't know much about it so what do you think of the bass?

Ugh.. the Josh Paul sig that Robear has has been my main bass of GAS for years now. Its so beautiful, for much less than an actual Elrick.

They stopped making them though.. :atoz:

Mine is the Cort RB5. This is the one they made after the JPS5. The only differences are a satin finish instead of a gloss. Flame maple top instead of quilt. And a rosewood fingerboard instead of ebony. I think the RB5 looks more like a US Elrick than the JPS5 IMO. It is pretty close now that I put Bart classic MK's and a Bart pre.

The family.
From left to right:
Yamaha RBX170 - old starter bass that did me well in my earlier days
Ibanez ABG140 - Great bass. Mainly use it to teach with now.
Yamaha TRB1006 - my go-to guy. See the most band gigs as well as my 'solo bass' bass.
SX Fretless Jazz 5 - Obtained few days ago. Sounds great for the price i paid.
Squier Affinity Strat - my beater electric.
'Maxine' - my acoustic i bought many years ago when i was in New Zealand. My fingers itched over the holidays so i bought this guitar over there. Doesn't sounds THAT bad really.

My new fretless. I intend to change pups on this baby sometime. Nothing wrong with the stock ones, just wanna rev this baby a bit. Great looking + sounding bass. Great mwah tone.

My Yammy. Love everything about this bass! Except for the fact it uses batteries. Small price to pay!

Okay then... here they are again...

...

Is that a 4001 or a 2001?

I had (have?) a 2001 but I loaned it out to my old guitarist and he let it get ruined. He left it up in his GF's attic for a couple of years ( I thought he was using it and taking good care of it ... stupid me, I trusted him!) with the tension on the strings and now the neck has pulled away from the body.

Let that be a lesson to everyone. Even if you trust someone, check up on your loaned gear once a month.

it makes me sad seeing that pic because mine was that same fireglow finish.
