Is that a 4001 or a 2001?

I had (have?) a 2001 but I loaned it out to my old guitarist and he let it get ruined. He left it up in his GF's attic for a couple of years ( I thought he was using it and taking good care of it ... stupid me, I trusted him!) with the tension on the strings and now the neck has pulled away from the body.

Let that be a lesson to everyone. Even if you trust someone, check up on your loaned gear once a month.

it makes me sad seeing that pic because mine was that same fireglow finish.

She most certainly is both Rickenfaker and Rockinbetter, massively modded at great cost to myself, and her once good looks (lump of ash stuck in by the bridge to cover a terrible routing accident).

Oh god the gas is back!!!!

I live that colour combo, cherryburst and black gaurd... though the one I played/wanted had maple which I LOVE!!!! I loved that bass and I don't even like 5ers!!!

Edit: More gas!!! I just noticed that your bass was a HS like the one I played!!!

I think it's an allparts Ric-a-like, got it from a ric dealer on ebay for 85 quid, which I felt was a lot for a bridge, but the Tokai one has the wrong spacing for both the neck and the pickups, go figure. It was cheaper than the Hipshot I was ogling for it.

yeah, it was. i tried to get it to every namm show that bill conklin had a booth at since he made it for me (it was made in august-december of 96, first namm show was jan 97).

the first namm show it was showed at, i was offered over 3x what i paid for it by some japanese guy from a music store that was there. never really got a better offer than that, not that i'd sell it.

that thing's gonna be burried with me.
