There is a fender forum thread about putting ashtrays on a jazz that has a BadassII


Move the bridge up a little and you can put a jazz bass bridge cover there if you want!

Hmmm...I couldn't find that discussion on the Fender Forum, but how would that work with keeping the scale length at 34"? Would you just compensate by tightening up the saddles by the same distance? If that's the answer, it seems to me that the breakover point would be impacted too.

I dunno, ashtrays do look cool, but that seems an awful lot of changes for looks...

My point was you cant put a bridge cover over the standard BAII placement.

My point was you cant put a bridge cover over the standard BAII placement.

I saw today the original BadAss bridge is able to fit under a ashtray!

Ha ha - yeah. The electronics in this beast are pretty awesome. Seems a shame to hide them away from public viewing! Also, kind of useful as there is a flashing battery level LED in there...

1968 Jazz, now I have 2 basses

It's a '66, or at least the tuners are.

Not necessarily. Fender used the lollipop tuners from '66 to early '68.
