I recently bought a Corvette standard 5. It's my second one. I had one and sold it because I thought I needed a pricey Rickenbacker c64. Then I realized the Corvette had the better sound for almost everything I do.. So I finally picked one off eBay for about what I sold my old one for.
I'll put up some pics later, but to me it's not so much about how they look, but how they sound. It never takes me very long to get what I think is a good sound out of it.

I just picked this up last weekend. It's my 4th Thumb I've owned and it's thee best one. I've owned in the past an "85 Thumb and an "87 & 98" Thumb 5 NT. I'm not really bothered about the neck dive because I use a very wide strap. Here's some pics taken by Dave Pickle. I'll take some new ones later.

Rockbass Vampyre with Dread Meister skull knobs and a Glockenklang 2 band pre amp, interesting that it now shares the same mec volume pot as the higher end Warwick's.
I love it. It has some serious throaty low end, growly mids and clear sparkly highs. So many tone options too. If my house was on fire, this is one I'd grab. It's the perfect bass for the music my band plays, overdriven quirky prog. It's funky as hell too. Honestly I couldn't be happier with my current collection basses. The only thing I have the mildest gas for is a Breedlove Atlas acoustic bass guitar. Something I can take with me traveling or on a picnic.
