I did all the prep work and painted it black with a rattle can. It looked good but the paint was soft and scratched/marked easily so I wet sanded it down to 1000 grit, took it to an auto body shop and had them spray a catalyzed low gloss satin clear coat to protect it and give it the hot rod satin sheen look. Ordered all new black hardware from Warwick Germany. I also ordered a product called Rat Wax which is a cleaner/protectant for flat finishes that won't cause shiny spots.Very nice. Who did the refin?
Nice choice. I would be surprised if the 88 isn't really cherry. I have never seen one from that era that was maple.
Wow, someone listened to me for once...
