That's a Masterbuilt. There are no Pro Series with a brass JAN3, wenge neck, wood tuner pegs/covers, rechargeable battery etc
That's all reserved for Masterbuilt stuff. Enjoy that beast!

Finally! My new love... paid around $1000 (im in Norway). Got a very nice flightcase and a new cable with it. It was bought new 3 years ago from a shop, but it is a 2007 model. Its barely used, and looks like new, just need to wipe off a little dust, and maybe wax it?
Its the best bass i have every played for sure.

Thomann ships to Norway no doubt. Here's the link to the wax. A few cans will last years. And I'd recommend using Warwick's wax over some other product...it's great stuff. Keep that baby the way it was meant to be. If it hasn't been done in a while...you'll want to oil that fretboard as well

i played an older warwick thumb neck through yesterday that had the huge baseball bat neck. i loved it!! are there any being made today with a neck like that?
Here's mine picked up second hand: 2015 Custom Shop Corvette $$, 5-string, Natural Oil finish, Swamp Ash / Col.Flam.Maple AAA body Wenge neck, Black hardware.
Nice bass and even nicer amp. I bet that bass sounds extra special through that Ampeg?
Congrats on the newly acquired Warwick.So my '98 Thumb Bolt On 5 showed up yesterday. One word - WOW. I owned an '02 Thumb Bolt On 5 a while back and sold it due to financial reasons. It was nothing compared to this model. Everything seems "right" about the '98. The thinner 100% Wenge neck, the crazy figured Ovangkol body, the sound, the weight - it's all delicious.
Also - I must say that NOTHING sounds like a Thumb. You either love it or hate it, and I absolutely adore it.
Edit: Forgot to mention: the previous owner had the bass strung E-C - weird! I got it and was very confused when I wasn't able to tune the 5th string to a B. Ordered up some 45-135 Black Label's which should be here soon!

Granted no two basses sound the same, but do you find a general difference between a bolt-on Thumb and a bolt-on Corvette or Streamer?
I owned a German Streamer and now have a German Corvette. I've never played a Thumb. Is it the body shape that would make the sound difference? Of course the electronics, wood, etc., plays a part -- but again, individual bass differences.
Do you know if there is a Warwick bass with better balance or are they all top-heavy?!?
I too prefer a wider spacing and my 5 string Warwicks are quite narrow for my taste even after adjusting the spacing. It seems less noticeable on my Thumb than my Corvette, possibly because the former has a baseball bat neck.
If you're looking at the parts alone, there can appear to be a lot of overlaps - similar hardware, preamp/EQ, and pickups. My own bolt-on Corvette, for example, has a pair of MEC single-coil jazz pickups, an MEC preamp with 2-band EQ bubinga body, and ovangkol neck; this is identical on paper to a Thumb from the same era. I'm sure the body shape contributes a bit, but the real difference is the pickup placement. Nothing else in the Warwick line has a pickup placement like that found on the Thumb, and there are almost no basses out there that emulate the Thumb's unusual pickup placement.
Figured the fastest (I.E. lazy) way to get this answer is to ask the Warwick fans!

Most of the rockbasss models are, I think even some GPS have passive setups.. the Adam Clayton signature models I believe are also.
So the "MEC" pickups written in gold are all active and the "MEC" pickups that say "Dynamic Correction" in silver are all passive models.
Edit: and the $$ models all have passive pickups, but the German $$ basses are passive pickups with an active pre-amp, that's why they are written in silver not gold!!

So, the subject of six-string basses came up for me last night, and I have always thought I'd like to have a six-string. Looking at what's out there and how much they cost, it seems like Warwick is a good option for me, since I already own a Custom Shop Corvette Proline and love it. There are multiple Warwick models I like, but something like this Pro Series Corvette Standard Ash would be very nice, at only ~$1600 USD on Reverb right now.

But, here's a question...is the ash body heavy enough to balance the additional weight of a six-string neck? I know I also like the bubinga body Corvettes, but they are *very, very* heavy. And how is the balance of something like the Streamer LX 6 BN? I'm not crazy about the idea of buying from a guy in Moscow, but I've always loved the Streamer LX. Does the maple balance well with a broad neck 6?
It's been a very long time since I've had the opportunity to visit a bass shop well-stocked enough with Warwicks to test models like these. I bought my Custom Shop Corvette Proline through the Music Museum in Pitman, NJ, back in 2002, but I live in Vermont, now, where I'd have to drive over an hour just to get to a Guitar Center, and forget any independent dealers, because there just aren't any that would carry any $2000+ basses in stock.
