What a great instrument.

I've been intrigued by Warwicks for a long time, but never stopped to buy one. Until now.

That bass looks, feels, and sounds incredible; the quality is apparent, the TONE!!! Nice.

Count me in, please, as a great fan of these Bass guitars.

dang it...I want the Zebrano in a thumb! can that be done?

if anyone would know, it'd be someone in this thread...i am an aspiring warwick owner, and i am currently doing a custom job warwick. the thing is, i can't decide on a fretboard. the bass i'm making is a 5A flamed maple neck through with a swamp ash body and a 5A flamed maple cap. tonally, this should be on the "bright" sounding side. i know that a fretboard can't make or break the tone of an instrument, but it can help refine it. that's why i wanted to pick a wood that would be a "warm" sounding one. warwick has a "tigerstripe ebony" which as far as my research can tell is east indian ebony...if this is the case, what tone does that wood impart? if it's going to make the instrument brighter, then i'll go with rosewood instead, but if it's a warm tonewood, i would go with tigerstripe ebony (i prefer the look of the ebony as well as the feel) but above all is the sound. thanks for any info anyone has!

Can I join?

Just got it a week ago!

LOL at the arnie encyclopedia, Ive actually read some of that, theres that massive chapter just talking about his calf muscles and how he worked out on them for like 8 months straight and got standing ovations for them LOLOLOLOL... :D
Yeah and I think he played warwicks too... it said that somewhere towards the back. :hiding:
Worth a larf, beautiful stage 2 btw!!!

haha thanks. the encyclopedia (aka the body building bible) is actually a GREAT book. if you in anyway are an athlete you should own that book. it has everything you need to know about being in shape and healthy. and yes there is a chapter on his calves alone. there are entire chapters on biceps, triceps, the chest, the back, and so on...
arnold said you would have to do 500 hours of calf workouts to get calves like his.

and if you want a real laugh check out the movie "pumpng iron". if you dont laugh, hopefully you are inspired to hit the gym.

in that first video....how does he do that first slide? it sounds like a harmonic slide. is that possible or am i stupid? i feel like it can only be done on a fretless. i swear i thought the bassist from pearl jam does it at the beginning of evenflow.

o and i dont know if this works for everyone else but if you click on the little time bar thingy at 10 seconds you can make this cool bass loop.

It IS a fretless...

And yes Jeff Ament does an harmonic slide in Even Flow, I love that song.

i know its a fretess. im not deaf dumb and blind. i meant that it can only be done on a fretless right?
ive just never heard anyone talk about it. how do you do it? just hit a harmonic and just slide over the string?
sorry to sound like im new to this but ive never owned a fretless.

Well, while you can apply the technique on a fretted, it won't sound as cool. It will always be in steps.
