Here are my two current Wicks ... I've had a bunch including a vette 5 (which was awesome), and a pair of fretless vett 4's - one lined (after market :hmm: ) the other unlined with 18v EMGs (that was a GREAT bass).

The MECs in the Thumb are so so, to be replaced with Basslines and an outboard Agular pre. Sounds a little nasally with the PUs where they are, but it plays (and slaps) like butter.

if a twin j pickup is used, is there a way using 3 way MEC electronics to coil tap it? also, does the coil tapped twin j (i'm pretty sure that means the coils are reduced to the number of a single j) sound inferior to a true single j? also, how is pickup mix/isolation achieved on warwick basses (is it a switch?)

thx for any help you can offer.

All the standard models that come with a TwinJazz pickup have a switch for paralell/single coil/series mode. I think the twinjazz is two stacked singles side by side, not "true" SC, and the JazzMan models have "true" single coils. I might be wrong on the twinjazz. But I know they are active, while the JazzMan has passive pickups (I own one).

All Warwicks use normal pots for pickup panning, as most other basses do, switches are only for pickup modes and LED:s.

Hope this helps. I'm a bit of a Warwick nerd, so feel free to ask me anything!

Has anyone here tried Warwick amps? I'm just wondering because I'm looking at getting a Profet 3.2 with a 4x10. Oh and if you have a Warwick amp are you eligible for club membership? I have a Rockbass but I spose thats not a Warwick... I'll get one as soon as I get my amp and then save up enough money for a real Warwick.

Well, I joined the club a couple weeks ago with my Streamer stage II. As soon as I picked it up out of the gig bag I was in love. It has the basslines system in it and I just can't believe how comfortable this bass feels as well as how different it sounds from many of the other wicks' Ive tried. It's super comfy with the contoured back and the 34" is really easy on my shoulders, not to mention it's only about 9 lbs. No pics just yet as I'm on my laptop but I'll post some when I get a chance. I have a feeling this one will be with me for a long time.
