The Other Fitness Thread

I know we have a weightlifting thread, but what about a thread for those of us who train in other, or additional, ways.

I personally am a huge fan of Kettlebells, Jumpstretch, and most recently, yoga. I do all 3 on a set schedule. I do need to throw in some free weights, but for now all this training is plenty enough.

I'm also a triathlete, so I do lots and lots of training. It gets rough, but its my addiction and stress relief.

What about you? What do you do?

I've been pretty much inactive since late October but I'm starting back weights/cardio Monday. I'd like to start back Judo (Stopped just before the brown belt (had a half blue half brown because I wasn't 16 or something) 4 years ago and now I'm 18 so I could get the black) or start a new martial art to but I work or have classes at the times where the training/lesson take place. And somewhere in April the bikes will start to see some use

I lift 3 days a week on set program, but mix in either strength or flexibility yoga 1 day a week. I also love the C2 rower like John. It is great for intense interval training or long slow off day recovery activity.

Going for my orientation at the gym (never been to a gym before. Always did some excersise at home) on Wednesday. Figure if I'm going to take the law enforcement/military route, I should probably be in good shape.

And my instructors name is Allie...High five, anyone?!

There are a few general gym and fitness threads about too.

I'm still into my free weights, and plan on getting back into the weightlifting training come the summer.

Other than free weights, I have a rowing machine at home (York R301, wish I could afford a Concept2!) and play rugby which involves plenty of running about, hitting things, lifting in lineouts and pushing in the scrum, great all round workout!

gotta love the free weights! :D Starting on a fascia stretching program this week and strength training for my chest and widening my back up a bit. I have been incorporating more static stretching in after training though (get all that nasty lactic acid out) but really wish my gym had a kettlebell, my shoulders could be soooo much bigger if we did :bawl: but good to see bass/fitness enthusiasts out there, makes it interesting to be in the pursuit of musical and physical perfection at the same time
