    Got a Squire P, Squire jazz 5string and an Brunswick acoustic bass all passive. Just out of curiosity an you get active acoustic basses?

    1965-P-bass
    1973-Gibson Les Paul Signature bass
    1970 -fretless P-bass.
    1963-Jazz body, 1962-P-neck.

    The above 4-basses are my go to basses.

    A Valenti Jazz, and a MTD 535 round out my basses.
    But the are active. (Don't hate me)

    How does this play, I saw the press release and I was curious. The tone port thing wigs me out.

    Are you talking about the Yamaha I posted? I'm not sure what you mean by tone port. Are you referring to the resonance ports through the body? In any case it plays very well. It is one of the best 5-strings I have played with a remarkably clear b-string. It is light and has a tonne of growl.
     
  14. All my basses are passive, 63 P-bass, 66, P-bass, 57 re-issue P-bass, 82 JV J-bass, Parts J-bass, 50-year old upright. Exception to this passive rule; I've got a Aria Custom Shop Electric Upright with a pizo pickup that needs a 9-volt but it has no active vol or tone controls, so I consider it passive. ...... Let me know if it passes the passive test.

    2000 MIM Jazz
    Unknown year P/J special, fretless
    2006 Rogue VB-100
    2007 Jay Turser JTB-401
    2007 Epiphone EB-0

    All have flats except the MIM Jazz and the EB-0; the original factory rounds are on both of those.
