Got the Buzz bass today and it plays great.
A few questions for you Pedulla experts though as I think the bass has a couple of potentially serious issues....
Is it normal for a Buzz to be super low output? I mean much lower than my passive Fenders. Pickups (Barts) are high, new battery, etc.
Also, If my bass/treble controls seem out of synch and almost sound like an envelope filter when adjusted, why does this mean?

Edit: The bass seems to have the EZQ preamp. Any love for this thing? More of a parametric filter than a preamp it seems.
I'd say def nickel rounds. I use the Fender Taperwound nickels on my PentaBuzz. Just started using XL's on my fretted 6.

It's a 91' Pentabuzz Limited. Quilted AAAAA maple with a Birdseye maple fb. PJ pickups.
I can't get over how great this bass is. As soon as I got it home I strung ut up with La Bella DTB flats like I've been switching out to most of my bass'es. I liked the tone but felt it needed some jagged edge to it so I stole the Tomastik jazz flats(fairly new) from my Warwick Corvette BO fretless and I'm very happy with the results. Jammed with them on Thursday with my space band and they loved the tone and loved how crazy the pedulla makes me feel.
I'm still a huge fan of LaBella's but the Tomastiks are the right flat for the Buzz. Nice easy tension for a neck that likes to sit flat. No apparent wearing on the fingerboard and I was overly aggressive. Mwaaahh almost like a round-wound. Good sustain and very nice feel. I would admit though that you can't get a round-wound tone with these flats or any that I've tried I like the overall sound of the Tomastiks, they last forever, they thump and they sing. A little pricey although I get all my strings on BassStringsOnline and the prices are reasonable. The selection and service is second to none.

I had an 87 buzz that was all original.
it had a lower output as well and virtually no output in passive mode.
incredible sound though and I sold it way too cheap.
gonna need another one.
Sure nuff, NightDonkey, but the club rules actually the only rule we have sez you have to first post a picture of your bass. We like the rule because it gets us a never ending stream of eye-candy!

It is exactly the one from eBay. I waffled, wished, watched and lurked. Finally made an offer when it wen't off sale and viola. It is now my bass. I am so stoked about this bass. I've wanted a Pedulla Buzz since trying one out at the Bass Center, Los Angeles in 87. Since then I've had everything. Like if I had forgotten about the Pedulla.
Now I've got one and it is the best bass I've played! I'll get some better pic's up soon.
Like that Modulus huh. It is a sweet bass. It initiates a lot of comments with the non bassist crowd. Almost looks more like an exotic weapon than a bass to some.

I hate quoting myself, but I got to try out the Buzz tonight at a full volume rehearsal. All I can say is WOW. Forget about the preamp, I just dimed everything and favoured the bridge PU a bit.... It killed.
We are working on some new stuff as we have a couple of very different gigs coming up (older crowd and a young biker crowd). I used the Buzz to play Black Sabbath, Johnny Cash, the Eagles, Beatles, Stone temple Pilots, Judas Priest, Garth Brooks.... Etc.
I played it more like a fretted bass, but it had MWAH when I wanted it. I just strung it with new Stainless Fodera rounds.
Anyways, I can't believe how versatile this bass is. Definitely a keeper!

I had a pentabuzz with an EZQ and loved it. Not sure I would like it in other basses but on a buzz it killed. Jaco to upright with the twist of a knob!
I finally got around to installing a Flexcore Preamp into my Thunderbass. The Flexcore is a 2 band at the moment but I'll probably change that to a 3 or 4 band if I can get a stacked treble and bass pot.

it is white but the pedulla website doesn`t list white as a colour
i had a decent conversation with the owner and says it is all original.
could it be a custom request to get a colour that isn`t listed?
