Ok, I just looked through the club roster, and I'm already in the club from my last PentaBuzz, lol!

So, I'll just be over here, waiting for my ThunderBass to show up.

Also, does anyone know if I can get one of the ABM bridges that Pedulla used in '97? I'd really like a black one or, are there any other bridges that may work? I don't really want to drill more holes, but I'm prepared to, if necessary...thanks!
Like these?

So...this may sound funny/strange...but seeking recommendations on Strings for my Fretless Pedulla. If I had to describe what I'm looking for, I would say, something that will come off as sounding more Organic/Woody Growl and a little less (for lack of a better descriptor) glassy mahwah. Maybe there is no escaping that with the Epoxy coating on the fingerboard. Currently have a set of DR stainless Rounds on it. Thinking maybe something half-round ish...maybe nickel? I tried a set of DR Flats and LaBella Black Nylons and they didn't have the personality I was looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for advice on a 1984 Pedulla Interceptor I'm looking at. Very nice condition, with preamp replaced by MIke Pedulla a few years back. Hard to find good info on these except that they seem to be fairly rare and some close cousin to the MVP.

Has original case, and well cared for. What would be a fair selling price for this?b One sold on TB in 2011 for $1000. Is that still about right?

Pics here.

Hi All!. I have a mid 80's Buzz 4 (I think it's an '86). It has a pre amp/knob/switch configuration to the bass pictured in the previous post. I've always thought the active preamp for this was kinda odd/unique, in tha thtere is a single tone know and it seemed to function mostly as a volume boost. I'm contemplating getting the Bartolini 5.3AP Preamp. I believe that the holes in the Bass would accomidate the preamp's knobs, with my using that large pickup switch hole the trebble pot and the mini switch hole for the mid freq selector switch...assuming that mid freq switch is a mini switch. Main concern is if the depth of body of the bass would likely accomidate the push/pull active/passive vol pot. Anyone ever mod their bass with something like this...or (excuse my ignorance) do the newer Buzz basses come with a push/pull active/passive vol pot?

Thanks in advance.

No.

I have a question for Rapture j5-2 owners:
I have a 1996 Rapture that has always sounded a little "dark" to me and the B lacks attack. For a jazz bass, it seems to lack that zip in the highs most jazz basses are known for. Does anyone else experience this?
Here's a pic with my Lakland and BC Rich.

I used to own a J5-2 and never found it dark at all. Boosting the onboard pre really gave that bass some serious teeth. What strings are you using?

I've used more different string on that bass than I can remember. Everything from Pedulla's brand, to Circle K (or whatever they are calling themselves now), to every type of DR; nickle and steel, regular and tapered. It is something more fundamental than that.
Years ago I asked Pedulla if there was a trim pot in the cavity to turn up the preamp and they said no. Since the electronics are under the pick guard I've never wanted to open her up to find out for myself. Are you saying there is one under there?

There is no trim pot in the Rapture (or Thunderbasses or Thunderbolts). You can either change out the pre for a Bart (NTMB for the extra mid option) or add a Bart AGB/918-2 to boost the output (there is some room under the pickguard, but I couldn't confirm how much).
I'm surprised the DR SS didn't add some zip and bite; I can tell you that Ernie Ball Cobalts are a very aggressive string, along with Roto 66 SS. Another thing that I've noticed is that if my action is too high, it seems to affect the zing/bite of the notes.

Some strings definitely help, but the bass is always quiet if I leave the EQ at the center indents and the B is just never pops. Since any kind of Pedulla is very hard to find these days its hard for me to compare in person. I don't trust videos because there are too many variables.
