The Pedulla Club!

I was always a little turned off by the body shape. Then I played a friend's Rapture, and I was really impressed with the neck. A couple months ago I ran into a great deal on the MVP5 and basically had to get it. It feels great, and the body shape has really grew on me.

I'd settle for an MVP6!!! But I'm out of work and selling stuff! An MVP5 would do, but I'd rather have a 6 for sure. 19mm.
I've got a 19mm Pentabuzz and a T-Bolt 6 at 17.5mm. Great necks and players.

Hey all, Bought this about a year ago, not sure if I got a good deal or not. Paid 1100. does that sound about right? And I would love to join the club. Thanks

Seems like a pretty good deal to me, but you might search our Basses For Sale section to get a better idea. In any event, welcome to the Club and add #208 to your signature, if you don’t mind!

Basses For Sale

Hey folks:

I am putting my Pentabuzz on the selling block. It's the 19mm string-spacing version. An absolutely beautiful bass - Arctic Blue is a phenomenal color! Here's a pic to give you an idea of how it looks. There are a couple of tiny rub marks in the clearcoat, and possibly a minor ding or two, but you really have to look carefully to find them. This bass is in pristine condition. PM me if interested and I'll provide details.

Hey all! Looks like I might be member 209! I just picked up a ThunderBass T5! I actually had an MVP4 and a PentaBuzz at one time long ago, so I'm not really new to Pedulla. I'm pretty excited! Always loved Pedullas. I have a question, what size are the tuning peg holes? I'm planning on putting new tuners on the TB, and I wanna make sure I order the right size. Any help is appreciated.

Also, any of you guys playing harder rock with your Pedullas? My main money-making gig is hard/modern rock cover band(we cover everything from Billy Idol to Breaking Benjamin to Drowning Pool and Bon Jovi). I'm currently playing US Spectors, which are great, but I wanted something slightly different as well. I was on my way to Fodera land, but I've been a Pedulla fan for a while and this one was right up my alley! So, any rockers doing their thing on a Pedulla?

Hey, and welcome to the club! I play a lot of hard rock & metal (Maiden, Van Halen, Rush, etc) with my arsenal Pedullas (2.Thunderbass/3.Thunderbolt/1.Rapture models) and am very happy with them (I too play Spectors as well - fortunate enough to own 2 US models). Most of my Pedulla's have been modified; that's not to say that the stock tone was lacking (it seriously kicks ass), I was just looking for more diversity. I have noticed that the bolt-ons seem to fit the harder stuff a little better, as I seem to get a some more bite and presence, whereas the neckthrough is a little mellower (and the Thunderbass still delivers easily). What I have found that made a nice impact on my tone was the Darkglass B7K (I don't use it for distortion, just to add some tubey grind - nothing over the top, just enough to have my tone stand out a bit).

If you are looking for chrome Pedulla tuners, I'm selling some (selfish plug).

That's good to hear, my man! Most of the stuff I do on my own is a bit funkier and laid back, but the money comes from rock, lol!

Sorry, my friend, but hardware is going to black, not chrome...;)

Hey guys, anyone have any experience with Nordstrand pickups in their Thunderbasses? I have a mid-90's 3-knob zebra Thunderbass, and my taste is evolving to favor more aggressive tones than what these Barts are giving me. Thinking about dropping in some Big Singles. Do those play nice with the stock electronics? Will they fit? Thanks!

I had put BigSplits in a Thunderbolt with an Audere classic band preamp, and it was a HUGE difference in tone. I do like the sound of the Barts, but the BigSplits had ton of bite and aggression.

In another Tbolt, I have a set of Nordy Dual Blade Neos with an Audere and a coil tap, and when in single coil mode, there is a bit of that bite and snarl that I experienced with the big splits. In series mode, the Neos are quite thick (as expected) but sound great.

I can tell you that the Big Splits do not fit and you will either have to order a custom set or route your bass for the P2 sized Nordy's

Thanks for the info! Routing the body scares me.

Anyone?

Ok, I just looked through the club roster, and I'm already in the club from my last PentaBuzz, lol!

So, I'll just be over here, waiting for my ThunderBass to show up.

Also, does anyone know if I can get one of the ABM bridges that Pedulla used in '97? I'd really like a black one or, are there any other bridges that may work? I don't really want to drill more holes, but I'm prepared to, if necessary...thanks!

Pedulla will sell you them. Or check eBay.

Yeah, I've been talking to Christine and they don't have any of those bridges in black available. I think I found something that may work on AllParts:

It looks like a match, but if anyone knows for sure, I'd appreciate some help. Also, what size are the tuning keys, 3/8" or 1/2"? I'm ordering Hipshot Ultralights, but I'm not sure which size Pedulla uses. I asked Christine and, while she was super nice, she didn't really answer my question. No worries, I'm sure someone here probably knows...
