We had a fun event at our local community college which involved David Ellefson (Megadeth) speaking to the student and then doing a public meet-n-greet and book signing later on. Bass Gear Magazine also had a mini gear fest going on at the same time, and David spent a little time playing my Nuance 4.

thnX... I really do like the sound. IMO it's very versatile. the sound you hear on this is direct into my Antelope Orion Studio and out through my Focals, recorded by the mic in the GoPro. it probably came out just a bit thinner than it sounds in person, but close.

as far as the balance, I'm still getting used to it. I've only had it 8 daze, but it seems to balance on my leg very well. I haven't put a strap on it yet, so we'll have to see about that... ;-)

I think they recommend wearing a strap even while seated with this model because the position of the upper bout is forward from a traditional bass. I can already tell I might have issues playing in the upper register while seated. NONE-THE-LESS that is one beauty of a bass and it sounds just fab. Congrats.

I played this particular instrument at NAMM and really liked the sound. then I went down to Mike's shop outside of Boston and played it for another hour or so to confirm what I thought. after all, playing something at a trade show is not normal. both times were through very different amps, and it still sounded great - to me. my friend Tim Landers was also in lust for it and we talked a lot about how great it sounded and how well it played. he took it with him to several of his demos at the show and it sounded good through a wide variety of amps & cabinet configurations.

FWIW I have several basses with P/J configurations and in general I like that sound, but this bass is special. it spoke to me and that's why I shelled out what is to me a crazy amount of $$ to bring it home. I have a Ristola 5 string fretless for sale on this site with Nordstrands in P/J that sounds great, but this bass is several steps up IMNSHO.
