The Pedulla Club!

I have two Pedulla Basses. a 1994 Peacock Blue 4-string fretless Buzz. and a 2000 Rapture JJ 5. Natural - Birdseye Maple fingerboard.
They where my main giving basses from 1994-2012. I still play them, but have added a few other basses in my arsenal, due to the style of music I'm now playing.
Pedulla basses are in a class all by themselves. Amazing quality and playability. With there own tone.

For a whopping $1700 I just snagged a blue MVP5 off eBay with little to no wear and a few paint chips. It's set up as a P/J, my personal favorite setup.

This is an earlier 3 knob model that sounds and plays damn excellent. And when I put it thru a Line 6 Pod pro it's just a gas!

Sometimes you get just plain lucky!

EDIT: Looked up the serial number and it is a 1988 model. If it did not have a few small paint ships on the head you could almost swear it was new.

And now a few years later...

This is still, by far, my very favorite bass of all. Nothing like a Pedulla in my book!

The Blues Brothers...

Very nice! I just love the color! he he...

Seriously, that older 5 stringer is the best bass (for me) I have ever had. Nothing ever feels as good as that one to me.

BTW, looks like you changed out your bridge. Headstock still have the old logo as well? I love that look!

It's the stock ABM 6 string bridge and yep the old logo on the headstock indeed.

I wonder how flexible Pedulla is regarding hardware....is he cool with custom requests like a different bridge than the one on offer? I'm not in the position to buy unfortunately, just bouncing ideas around.

No, not really. Mike is very particular about every aspect of construction, including the hardware. Typically, if you ask him about doing something non-standard he'll be like "...nah that's just how we do it!" in a cheerful but firm voice.

Very nice thomastik strings. My MVP6 has some nasty 15 year old strings and they are all from different brands/sets (I have no idea which is which). But they are still bright and punchy!

I'm 98% certain these came on a Thunderbass5 I've since parted with as it was too close to my MVP5. Moved to the MVP and have to say their just incredible. I have an old Peavey TL-6 and I think now that I figured out what they are these are going on there as well.

If you decide to spring for new strings give these a thought.
