If Michael is willing to do a refin, take the offer and let him do it. The finish he uses is a polyester (same stuff that's on the fretless boards) and it's a very hard finish.

My PentaBuzz fingerboard finish is finally starting to go a little in a couple of tiny spots (1999) and when I send her in I might go for a color change from Cherry to Midnight Arctic blue!
does anyone think that changing the colour of their pedulla will affect the resale value to any significant degre? i thought about it too

Well........who, in their right mind, would ever sell their Pedulla? I would only do that to get a newer or different one. I don't think I'd sell my PentaBuzz unless I found another with my favorite color for way cheaper... And I got mine for $1300!!! I am looking for an MVP 6 right now not that I can really afford it, but you never know.... God works in mysterious ways!

I've owned a horde of basses over the years, and as far as one bass smoking another... I think that's all about what kind of music you are trying to play and finding the right bass and rig for that setting.

Anyway, I've also sold both of my Pedullas for two reasons: I'm mainly a 4'er and they were 5'ers, and I prefer the tone/tones from my G&L's. That said, every Pedulla I've played has felt absolutely perfect in my hands, in every way. Wonder if they'd build me one with G&L electrics?

haha, yes I know, but I still think they are awesome and would love to have one if I could afford it! I've just gone with the more classic basses lately.

They both are great basses but like the previous poster stated ........they just feel perfect in your hands ........and they sound great too! My question would be why would you need 5 or 3 of the same bass, especially if they are 4 stringers?

that is your opinion. Yes some basses are more versatile than others but there are some tones that only the original bass nails it right on the head such as Music Man, Gibson violin bass like Paul McArtney, a fretless sound, or a Rickenbacher....

Rbasses are awesone too but these are opinions and tastes and tone types or styles one is after...not really a quality issue on the builder.
I have had several Pedullas...going back to the Pedulla thread... And they ALL.. Even the ones produced when Michael had several people working on them... Feel great and the quality is excellent.
I have 4 basses but each is very different. Yes I want more but that is always the age old needs vs. wants.
