The reason why Gibson Thunderbirds are so cool...

MORE GIBSON THREADS!!!!!!!!!

I wish I loved T-Birds like the hard core Tbird fans do. I want to. They look cool, they sound great in the right hands and they have this sort of je ne c'est pas. I just can't make them work for me. I'm sure I will try again some day. In the meantime, I will leave them to those who can make them work so well.

Edit: I can't spell in French, so forgive me. i am still relatively sure thats what I meant to say.

You meant je ne sais quoi, sais is from the verb savoir which means to know. ;)

Nothin' else has "the tone, the look...................The word is Thunderbird!

Killer picture & bird. Love that purple bird

I have been looking for a 5 string Thunderbird for about a year now.. I love them. Love the sound, the feel, the look. Don't get me wrong, I am a Fender Pbass dude as well.. I love my 5 string PBass, but I still want a Thunderbird.. (also looking for a Gibson Firebird to match). :)

i slap and pop and pluck and well yes, even pick sometimes on my birds. The goth epibirds have such a punchy-hollow slap and they mute like a dream with steels and this gives me a unique sound. Love doing RATM or flea-style lines with it..
btw- i actually caught my gibson doing the famous neck dive in a photo...

Why are tbirds known as "pick exclusive"? Does anyone play one with their fingers?

Hell yeah!!! Pick, fingers, whatever feels good.

Another great thing about T birds is that the difference, if you go back & forth from pick to fingers, seems less pronounced with a T bird than with other basses. For me that's a +... ...But playing a T bird with fingers? I do it all the time.

That's the beauty of the Bird, it sounds great either way. :p
