I think he'd have to go through dumbdrum to get one first. :p He ain't gettin' mine!

I was thinking . . . If there were only around 6-700 total Reverend basses made, and I'd say prolly not many more than 10-20% were Housers, that doesn't mean there are too many BHs out there. :eek:

Makes sense to me, how often does one pop up on the bay?

I don't hang on the Rev forum, but I really have to wonder what is the big ****** secret surrounding the production numbers over there? Are the fans not "worthy" to possess this sacred information? lol

I think the pickups and electronics on the Fender Roscoe Beck bass are similar to those on the Houser, and they do make a 4-string Beck. Not sure how similar it would sound to the BH.. solidbody vs. semi-hollow, etc. But that might be as close as he can get.
I agree with Chef. The guy should find a Houser and not use the B!

I bet it is just because of sub par record keeping. I believe the serial number page also said that some serial numbers are duplicated. I don't think that would have happened if they were really into keeping great records of what they had done. Just my guess...

Yeah, I don't think he's gonna wait forever until a Houser shows up for sale. There was the one gillento sold in the summer last year and one bugeye one that was on the trading block before that, but otherwise, I can't remember when was the last time I saw one for sale. It seems like it's been ages since one was on the 'bay. I gotta go with Templar on this one; I think there just weren;t too many of them made or we would see them for sale more often.

The RB4 is an interesting idea. I hadn't thought of that. I still think the pups are in a slightly more thumpy location (further away from bridge) on the BH5, and combined with the hollowbody, I think the BH5 prolly has a deeper tone, but the RB4 is about the closest thing yet.

Ah, well. He's gone through quite a few basses recently trying to find what he's looking for, and will no doubt head in another direction soon . . .

That's for sure...I'll be fightin for the next one that shows up. :p Anyone with a BH5 can think of me as guaranteed money at this point and could consider their houser as a liquid asset :D

This guy is a local friend of mine, but I gotta say that if I ever saw one for sale, I'd be contacting you in a heartbeat. I understand the GAS, as I waited many months before finding mine.

Rez, you're first in line on that one. It's more likely to end up on the block than the BH5, but I still wouldn't hold my breath.

FWIW, there's a sweet looking turquoise 5L on the 'bay right now . . .

I debated this for a little while before posting. :p

Apparently, Joe Naylor is liquidating some Link Removed on ebay that they used at prior NAMM shows. I debated posting this because I am undoubtedly going to bid (at the last minute) on at least one or two of the items, but I thought y'all ought to know about them.

Personally, I'm going after the 34" wing logo sign with just the Reverend R (and I'm prepared to go pretty high for that one -- wayyy over $100). There are also some other cool signs, banners, tablecloths (could be cut down to make a banner, IMO), and even some huge guitar stands with a rotating Reverend sign. I'm also highly interested in the red banner. Could go pretty high on that one, too. I have an indulgent wife. :D

Unfortunately, Joe selling off this stuff does not bode well for future NAMM shows IMO, unless they're going in a different direction or something.

Anyway, I felt I had to notify my fellow 'fishermen about this chance to own some cool (possibly collectible) memorabilia.
