They have amazingly playable necks.. think a '62 Jazz, with rolled fretboard edges. They have incredible tone due to the semi-hollow construction.. like a Jazz bass with more balls. And, they have a unique vibe. Play one, and you'll know.

Yeah, Trevor and that Fish of his through my Orange rig was definitely what pushed me over the edge. It's amazing how many people have told me that that was the most memorable tone of the evening.
So, all you fellow fish-rumblers, get ye'self an Orange rig!!!

I have been playing my Reverend through my Vox AC30, and it get some amazing tones. Definitely not gig-volume, but it would be awesome in recording. I may do some sound clips of some stuff tonight or tomorrow, and I'll try to get that done.
I saw that, I told him I'm coming over to play when it arrives. Gotta see it and the orange PJ.

BTW, for you Metro-Detroit Dwellers,
Joey Naylor will be coming out to the Old MiaMi on Saturday Night to see Blammo!. The drummer for The Fury also plays for Blammo!, and him & Joey are Toma-Dachi (Japanese for life long Friends) Not sure if the Snarlin' Blue Marlin will be here by then, but I still need to get Mr. Naylor to replace Zack Green's initials with his on the Orange Roughy!!!

FWIW, I brought out the PJ to the practice last night and the Sadowsky stayed in the case. My playing was a little shoddy (they neglected to inform me that they play several tunes from the CD they gave me in a different key from what's on the CD, so I had to do some harried transposing, which I'm not great at).
Nevertheless, they were bowled over by the tone and started calling me "Reverend Bart."
They kept saying that they could finally hear the bass -- some real low end. FWIW, their normal bass player plays a Ritter and a Jerzy Drozd, each of which sells for more than all three of my fish put together.

There's a sound guy/guitar player here wh's been calling me "Reverend" ever since I borught my blue 5L out the first time some 3 years or so ago...bet there's a bunch of us now.
Not typically on the white collared shirt, but I do wear a lot of black. Goes with the bass quite well.
And now, here to testify on the bass guitar, the Reverend Alan!
Nice ring to it, IMO.
Question for the fishermen . . . A fellow TBer came over today and really loved the BH5, though he's mostly a four-string guy. He asked me if there were any basses that sounded like a 4-string Brad Houser. I was completely stumped. Anyone???
hey i am looking to buy a reverend five string bass. where can i get one? and ho much is a good price for one?
I wonder... how easy would it be to recreate Reverend-type basses... I love the look, but it's probably copyrighted, so it would have to at least look different.
