Alright friends, are there any 5L's on the block right now? I've lost track. Not only is Dan1099 looking(and I'm sure a lot of other people, just talking about personal friends), but now I've been commissioned by Ryan at LDS to find him one! He's got a nice Jazz 5 to trade, getting details shortly.

I am pretty much exclusively using the Protec Contego bag. All new Skjold basses come in one (guess who turn him onto them? ;) ). I just received this one yesterday at the same time as my Rev and it seems pretty compatible. The bass is a little shorter than the interior space, but it seems to be secure in the bag, and there is a decent amount of padding. Also has a neck support cushion.

If its good enough for my high dollar custom, its good enough for my Rev. Its pretty affordable at $96 shipped from ThePerfectbass, even more so when they are discounting. Comes in Black and Dark Grey.

that looks like a pretty good fit. That might be the way to go. Was kinda hoping someone found a bass with similar dimensions that I could order a replacement case for. i.e: that ibanez blah blah is about the same width..etc and the case fits like a glove. TKL will make one still, but they will charge some serious money for the custom case, definitely more than I want to invest in a long term storage solution for an unused instrument.

That's the beauty of the stock Rev cases: they're not very big.

I'll second that recommendation. I have an identical case for my Skjold 'P-bass', and Rob Allen uses a similar case (I have one for my Mouse). They are excellent, IME/IMHO.

That's a mighty sharp looking bag there.

I'm still trying to decide which is less risky: Shipping a fish back and forth cross-country via Fedex or something, or getting something along the lines of a SKB Bass Safe or an ATA flight case and taking it with me on the plane.

Any suggestions? I don't want to risk my Dawgfish to damage, but I really, really would like to take it with me this August to Georgia.

Took only the Fish to practice last night. I have been playing fivers so long it took some adjusting, but it wasn't too bad. Bass sounded great and is a whole lot of fun to play.

The Skjold is my sound, so I can't imagine when I will be gigging the Fish, but its a wonderful backup and will be great for some stuff I want to do at home. Very happy to be back in the family.
