The G&L's I still play are:
a) ooold
b) passive
to wit: a couple of L1000's; an old SB2JJ, and old SB2 PJ; and an old JB2JJ with Nords in it.

The Rev is my fave PJ.

Yeah, I had an 84 L-1000 fretless. I stupidly sold it after I heard a recording of my intonation when I was playing it regularily! Plus, it weighed a ton. I still have my ASAT, gorgeous tobacco sunburst. Just does nothing for me when I play it.

After years of using a 1981 L2000e, a couple of L2500's, and a 2006 L2000, I've concluded that the active G&L's just aren't me...in fact, most active things aren't me.

Exceptions: Lakland 5501 with Nord DC5's and an LH3 preamp-which is very natural sounding to me...and two Valenti's...one with Big Singles and a Nord pre, and a PJ with a Nord NP5 and Fat stack Single with a Nord pre. To me, the Nord pre is as neutral as they come...the Alleva LM5 being a little better yet. But, couldn't keep that one.

Well, after selling off some of my fish, and watching them resale here recently, I am looking to get another fish: P/Js, metal tops, and fivers preferred.

I'm digging the color. if I ever found a four-banger in that color and didn't buy it my wife would kill me. It's her favorite.

EricF, you'll dig the DB750 w/a fish. The hot single coil pickups through that head will blow your mind.
