No... I fell out...
I had to seriously resist, and I will probably kick my self later but....
I'll console myself that, though its a Houser, its still a 5 string, and it would be a matter of time before I realized, again, that I was a 4 string player.

If you're a four string guy, the Houser definitely ain't your thing.
Though it's shallow, which helps make it a nice player; it's fingerboard is quite wide.

That is what ultimately made me stop at a $950 bid. I thought if it was a sleepy day on eBay and I won it, I could trade it for a 4 string, but it wouldn't be a serious enough bid to prevent someone who really wanted a Houser from getting it.
So... I am not heartbroken, just hope it found a good home!

But I totally understand being a 4-string player. I'm keeping my BH5, but it doesn't get much if any gig time.
If it had been a PJ with a maple board I would have jumped in there myself and been willing to go much higher. Potential plans to order a dream Sadowsky would be discarded in a heartbeat.

Though I've owned many Reverends over the years I'm a very infrequent poster here. Nice club y'all have here.
Can someone point me in the direction of the data base that is being discussed here. I'd be interested in learning more about production numbers.
I also must confess. It was I who sniped the BH5 Lava off E-bay this week. I was away camping so it was necessary to do so. I used to own one or two BH5s. Really liked them but sold them for one reason or another. Right now the only Reverend I own is the last Reverend bass made. They sold it off their site 3 years ago. Has a red , leathertone finish and one of only two
pre-production, prototype necks.. It is an R 5L. If I like the BH5 as much as I recall I will have to sell it to pay for the BH5 so I'm letting all of you know that you may be seeing it soon on the market. Could possibly sell something else to pay for it, but I'm pretty set with the instruments I have.

Daktari.. I hadn't seen your site before, for some reason. Good stuff! Really well done, seriously G.A.S. inducing, and a good antidote for the thoughts I've been having lately that after playing Reverends for 11 years, I might move on and try something else..

Daktari, if you ever stumble across a gold topped Club King guitar with black p/g and P90 type pups for a price I could afford, I'd love to ehar about it. I'm no guitar player, I just think that particular guitar is cool enough to be worth ahving around

I put it together because I knew absolutely nothing about Reverends. I don't know much more now, but at least most of the info i need is in one spot.

None at all.
Hope you enjoy it. I responded to your Rockhide inquiry over at the Reverend forum. I think your Red, and my black, are the only official rockhides (basses) on the books!
