Have never seen/played a Reverend before...but just stumbled on this craigslist add. I figured the Reverend club thread would be the right place to ask..

Do you guys think this is a good deal? I've been looking for a PJ bass for awhile now. Love the look of the bass..but wanted to get some feedback on the asking price before making the trip and haggling with the seller.

Thanks in advance! Here is the sale thread URL:

I have no idea what the used market is; I've seen very few flip.
Look up discounted retail and decide for yourself if that seems reasonable.

I have played a Decision, and it's a very nice bass.

$899 seems to be retail on a new Decision, and Jam Brothers is a Reverend dealer. If you can get there and play that will likely give you your answer one way or another.

I bought my first Mercalli (having never played one or even seen one in person) to satisfy my jones for a 5 string reverse P/J, and it has been great. I also went the d-bag route and bought it from an out-of-state dealer to avoid the lovely 10% sales tax here in CA...

Hey everyone! New to this thread. My Reverend Justice was my "engagement bass" from my guitar player husband... who has 3 Reverend guitars (Sensei, Manta-Ray, and Warhawk) of his own! I love it. I have always been a humbucker girl, but these j-rails really blew me away. Can't say enough good things about it. I need a new 5. I think I like the Mercalli but I haven't played one yet....

Check out the Billy Corgan owned RL5 on EBay. My RL5 is my favorite bass (over my EBMMw/ hum buckers)

Congrats to the new Reverend owners/club members I'm certain that you'll enjoy your new instruments.
I too have both a Mercalli & 5L and I just haven't gotten my
mojo on with the Mercalli.
The 5L is the Fish for me they just feel right as well as sound awesome.

Rock on my Brothers & Sisters!

My dub king. Easy to play, big fat sound or grind/aggressive /bright. Lots of punch in a small package. It has hofner flats on it & they siund great but I may change to rounds, get frustrated, and switch back to flats.
