I've literally just unboxed this. Haven't even plugged it in yet but here's the first pic. I was dubious when I ordered this, I felt weird about having an orange bass but I've been curious about the Triad for a few years and pulled the trigger. As the saying goes…it looks better in person - and it really does. I instantly loved the color as soon as I took it out of the box. If definitely needs a set up but it's gonna be a fun night!

Thanks man. Yeah the switch adds the neck p/u. Still having fun playing with the different configurations and tweaking the set up but so far I love it.
Set up done on the Triad 5 and I'm digging this thing. Well done Reverend! Here's a couple of family photos…
That's a tough one to answer man but I'll do my best. As an all rounder I think the Mercalli is the one. I've found myself using the Triad for all flavors of rock and the Mercalli for everything else- funk, soul, pop, reggae and I get a good traditional P sound from the neck pickup of the Mercalli. If I need to go really heavy I'll pull out the Decision. Do you NEED another bass if you have the Mercalli? Probably not. Did I need another bass? No. Did I want one? Hell yes. I'm already fixing to get another Mercalli (4). Sure I have the 5 but I miss the 4 that I sold a few years back. Pretty sure I'll be getting a Triad (4) in future too. If I could only have one bass I guess it would be the Mercalli 5 because it's such a good all rounder. But man I'm enjoying that Triad! I don't know if that helps, I'm hopeless at trying to describe how something sounds! In true TB fashion I'd say if you have the funds laying around the Triad won't disappoint, but don't go selling the wife's jewellery for it if you already got the Mercalli

At some point I am going to buy another Reverend bass to complement my Justice. I'm curious about the P-blade and brick-style pickups. The jazz bombs are punchy and articulate and I would say unforgiving when my right hand gets sloppy. The flip side is the reward when I get dialed in. It's a very satisfying sound.
I play a lot of country and Americana where a traditional P-bass sound is the usual. The neck PU soloed gets that done but I would like to hear a Mercalli, Decision, Thundergun, Dub King, Watt, Sentinel, Fellowship, or Houser…just cuz

I can't speak for the dub king, watt plower, fellowship or the sentinel but I can speak for the Mercalli, decision, Thundergun and Brad houser. Country and Americana I'd say the Mercalli, Thundergun and houser can all get the job done. For those particular genres I'd probably go with the Thundergun, Mercalli or houser in that order. Grabbed this Rumblefish off Reverb. Hand-signed 'Bass #036.'
The frets and nut were in horrendous shape, but I had that all taken care of by a pro.
Super happy to have one of these after years of wanting one. I'll always keep my eye out for one of the wackier finishes, but this one plays, sounds, and looks fantastic. The IMA strings are way better than La Bella's normal Super Polished series.
Very nice! I put a set of the standard Super Polished on my Justice about a month ago. They have settled nicely.
Maybe the set I got a couple years ago when they first brought them back was defective, but the low E was incredibly dead and thuddy, the A was so-so, and the D and G were bright. The IMA set is way more balanced. Not sure they're the strings for me, but I'm gonna see how they settle over time on this bass.
I liked these right away. I've been using DR Fatbeams for several years, and they are good in their own way. The SB's are mellow and more polite. That's the part that tips towards flats. But they retain some bite and brightness. I find myself leaving the tone knob near max, rather than having it around 50% with the fatbeams. The texture is smoother as well.
I'm back in the Reverend Club! Just took delivery of this beast. Reverend is doing amazing things. Initial inspection and playing is really positive. Amazingly well set up right out of the box.
Not a big fan of Reverend's current body styles, but the triple pickup setup is appealing. You could put in a Free-Way switch and get 5 more pickup options...
The body shape is definitely on the edge a love it or hate it style. This has the new push/pull tone knob that gives you the jazz bass setup as well as all three pickups at once. So it has 7 settings. I'm not sure what would be missing.
