Their guitar line really is special though- so much variety in pickup configurations and aesthetics.
The one I saw looked like your bass, but had what looked like a P90 in the neck position, which is what he was using. It sounded killer.... absolutely the best I have ever heard this student sound. Very impressive. This kid definitely found his voice with that guitar.
Probably a Double Agent 20th Anniversary....sweet guitar.
I have one of the red phenolics with two P90's that I bought off a friend several years back. Not exactly sure of the model but it's an absolute killer guitar - in the hands of a skilled player it just blows away the competition and yet it's an incredibly durable workhouse to boot. Why these were never more popular, I couldn't say, but I was so impressed after hearing and handling one that I bought it to add guitar lines to my song sketches. It's the only electric guitar I own although I do happen to own four Rumblefish, which I adore.
Alas, such a fine guitar in my hands sounds like crap since I can't really play guitar. But it gets to sing when other folks come over.
Thanks - glad to know what it is. They're pretty cool guitars. I love taking it out and handing it to a Strat/LesPaul/SG player who I've invited over and who's never seen one. At first they have a big frown. Then they plug it in and start playing. I love to see the smile break out on their faces.
I'm going to back in the Reverand Club! I couldn't help myself when I saw this Mercalli 5. Yes, that is a mint green pickguard. 
I was told it has a "upgraded Tone Styler is a six position rotary tone selector (which) offers a greater range of tone than the stock tone pot" and it was installed by none other than Mike Lull himself, who supposedly did much of the setup work and care for this bass. Should be in my hands next week!

I replaced the tone pot in one of my Rumblefish with a 6-capacitor vari-tone switch. It's like having 6 different basses. I loved it so much I put it in my Lakland P-bass too.

It's easy to do. The old screw hole will be visible, however. Brad Houser said these stock tuners were "tone suckers". ZSG replaced mine. He said he never believed that tuners could make a difference in the tone, but he swears he played mine with the old tuners, and then afterwards with the new ones, and heard a difference. I didn't get a chance to a/b them.

That bass, with that pickguard is amazing.

That switch - very interesting. I have something new to investigate. My Mercalli has become my Number 1, but the slight volume drop with the blend knob in middle position is its small Achilles heel.
Wow, I had never actually noticed the volume drop on my Thundergun, but I'll trust that it's indeed there. I typically run anywhere between 50/50 to 75/25 neck, depending on the song, and I guess I might have noticed but attributed it to the added clarity that a precision-style pickup can provide. Learn something new every day.
