The Reverend Club (part 8)

Did I see in the classifieds that you picked up a nice Mercalli ?
Yeah. Picked this up a few months ago.

My Mercalli 5 was delivered yesterday. It appears to be one of the early ones without the forearm contour. This thing is so uncomfortable to play with that sharp edge under my right arm. The neck dive is pretty bad as well. This is hopefully the last time I buy a bass without trying one first. I'm so dissapointed. I'll likely be sending it back first thing monday. :banghead:

That is an early one. Black headstock even. It's been modded with a toggle switch, too. Did you buy it as new?

No, I bought it used from a shop with a 48 hr return policy. I was told it was modified by Mike Lull with a tone-styler and a 3 way pickup selector switch. Considering keeping it and putting flats on it. Keep going back and forth on it. The sharp edge under my forearm is a real turnoff. The neck dive is not great either. Considering hotshot ultralight tuners, but then I'm just throwing more money at the problem. Just not sure what to do here....
