The fretboard shouldn't be really pressing down on the pick guard. Just press down on the pickup and you should be able to wiggle it off.
Couldn't do that with my 20th anniversary. Possible you could do that with one having a plastic pickguard. On mine the aluminum was so thick the fretboard edge was holding it down.
I would love a metal flake Reverend bass.

Surprised at the thickness of the rear MM tone on the Mercalli. Sometimes I reach for the blend knob for a thinner 'burp' - but find I am already soloing the rear humbucker.
Also- looking forward to grabbing a roasted reverend bass (in hopefully a new colour) in 2018

It's been so long since we had new color, I'm really not sure! I do know there is nothing new at winter NAMM this year, bass wise.

Over the years, I've had a few of the Fishes. A green 5 that I definitely should have kept. A Lava Swirl Houser - oh, how I regret letting that one get away (and would gladly shiv the guy I sold it to - I told him I wanted first crack if he decided to let it go, and he did a year later and nicely offered it back to me at TWICE THE PRICE, grrrr). There were others. An orange PJ 4 that I never really bonded with, a couple of white 5Ls, I can't even remember now.
A few weeks back, a red 5L popped up and, as luck would have it, I had some money stashed. Oh, thank you, TB, you always make me broke. Was I waiting for a new EBMM to become available?
Yes, yes, I was. But the new MMs are not hitting the streets until later this summer. What's a boy to do? I said, "I will buy that Reverend, sir." And then I did.
This isn't it - mine has a black PG and I need to take photos - and I will, I will. But you know what it looks like.
The awesome guy I bought it from had LaBella 1954 Flats on it. Dude was nuts, a REAL MAN, and I told him I would change them out, but I had to play it for a while with those strings and it was humbling. I love flats, but these were designed to make you consider every single note. Dang. I liked them. But I changed them out for EB Cobalt Flats and now I can actually imagine gigging it.
I sure wish Rev still made these. I haven't had the chance to try out the newer basses but LORT I love these Fishies.
