I'm here to show off the Justice Bass that I picked up used. I was surprised af how light it is. It has to weigh under 8lbs. The action is waay low, too, with no buzzes or rattles. Sounds awesome, and the satin neck feels great, with a nice shape that is very comfortable. It fits the bill for a Jazz-style bass with a more Precision-style neck. The neck on mine also seems tinted fairly dark, almost vintage-like. I'm excited!

There is a noticeable volume drop as you get to the center position. If you follow Reverend on Facebook, its explained on the March 31 Facebook live segment. It has to do with phase canceling and stuff. And I agree about the back pickup. Although I leave my blend knob about 75% neck, 25% bridge.
I'm going to have to go look for that video (I'm already a member of the Reverend Facebook group), I guess I don't really notice much of a volume drop...but, now, I'm going to have to listen though headphones to see if mine does that LOL!
The Blend didn't surprise me. It was how muted the highs became with blending toward either pickup. Rewiring the setup V/V/T definitely helped with that. Plus the rear pickup sounds a little better but I think another split brick would have been a much better bridge pickup. Any Chance you guys would sell a split brick?

It is a common issue when blending two pickups especially when the loads are different.
BTW looks like the bridge pickup follows the Bartolini color codes.

Now that I've had my Justice for a few days, I'm still loving it. I'm surprised that they aren't more popular, considering there's quite a few players that have said that they would love a Jazz bass with a wider nut than the standard 1.5". And although the shape is different, it's still classy in it's own right.
I also forgot to say in my initial post, but the craftsmanship on mine is terrific. Clean routes, great paint, fretwork and body binding. I also like that there are springs under the pickups instead of foam.

Sweet bass! I have the same experience with the fretwork on my Mercalli. I'm guessing it's because Zach still does the final setup
Checked the FAQ's on the site. No dice on buying another split brick. Guess it's stick with what I got or replace the pickups.
I did go back to rounds. The E was completely dead sounding on my labella set. Couldn't take it any more. I think I'm going to stick with rounds on this. I forgot about the growly P bass with rounds sound.

When they stopped making the models with the black headstock and fingerboard binding- I lost a little bit of interest - but the sky blue really caught my eye.

Same here. I played one when they first came out. I thought it was a little heavy but sounded and played fantastic. They were always in the back of my mind until I saw the 20th Anniversary model. Hopefully you like yours as much as I like mine.
Played mine last night. 2 hour set with a large band. Guitar player calls whatever he pulls out of his head. Pretty challenging. My Mercalli sounded great. Soloing the split brick puts me in the P bass zone. You know the set and forget and sit perfectly in the mix zone. Bass is comfy even though it's heavier than my Gibson. The Mercalli just balances perfectly.
I did order a push/pull pot for the thick brick. Plan on wiring series/parallel this weekend. We will see how it goes.

Looking to really downsize so am going to pick up one of those trace Elliot elf amps to chuck into the hard case along with the bass to serve as both amp or Di when needed to go direct.
Will be very interested in seeing/hearing how your series parallel mod goes!

I did the series/parallel switch on the bridge volume pot. Definitely gives some more tonal options. One annoying thing about this bass... in order to remove the pickguard you have to loosen the neck or remove the neck pickup(the pickguard mounts under the edge of the fretboard).
Anyway used a CTS push pull with the little circuit board. Nice pot... PIA to wire though.
The series/parallel gives a few more sounds especially a nicer slap sound. It makes this bass a little more versatile. But... really I use it as a great 5 string P bass. Great low B. Great growly P bass sound with the neck solo'd. Neck solo'd with the tone rolled off a bit is where I really find myself with the bass in most situations. All that said I am using an older set of round wounds (still waiting on strings almost two months now
). This Reverend is a better P bass than some P basses I've owned. And I've owned a few.All that said I still can't help but wonder what a spilt brick in the bridge position would sound like. That ones going to bother me for some time.

Thought I'd post this as it was posted on you tube last month - Derrick Anderson playing a Reverend Decision. Catchy tune. Not sure if the bass was just used on the recording or just used for the video, but the bass tone is a great match for the tune.

If you are looking for an American-made Reverend bass, and have some coin, you're in luck: check Ish Guitars of Syracuse, NY - (tell them Reverend Ken sent you). They even have the exact one (Moroccan Gold Rumblefish PJ) that got me the nickname...
