The Reverend Club (part 8)

scumbags.

These will eventually rear their heads. Good to know people here will probably be among the first to see them.

Who would have thought - an upside to looking at basses on the internet all day.

Yep - still nothing ANYWHERE, but it's only been a week I guess. Maybe the scumbag is at least a little smart and realizes he can't move these right away, because I'll be on him almost immediately...

But, looking forward to not getting them back and having to replace them... I'm looking at the 20th anniversary Mercalli 5 and wondering how the neck dimensions on these Mercalli's compare to the Brad Houser necks. Anyone held/played both and could give me a comparison?

So, got the Houser back today. An ad for both popped up on LetGo and I arranged a meeting to buy and had the police come too. :) The guy (actually a 14 year old kid) would only bring one bass. So I had him bring the Houser. They pulled in to the place as I was setting up the plan with the police and tried to drive away. Policeman spotted them, followed stopped, arrested. The kid won't own up to having both (even though I have screen caps of him doing so) and so I'm not hopeful for the Rumblefish. His friends probably went straight back to his place to get rid of it. I'm certain it will never pop up for sale again. anywhere. Unless they just decide to sit on it for a long while...

Anyway, I'm mostly happy - my Houser is one-of-a-kind since it was refinished in crushed Aluminum.

#2733 is back in the stable!!!
Pour one out for #518.

Yay! Another opportunity to show off my new Mercalli! (for those who've been on the forum all day....sorry for the multiple cross posts :))

Just brought her home yesterday afternoon, it's been tough to put her down (except when I'm posting about it :smug:)

If you're still handing out numbers, I'd gladly take one!

Also - rig/pedal info please!

I think I forgot to ask for a number, but I am the happy owner of a Reverend Decision, and I friggin' love this thing.

Here is a picture of it alongside its usual partner in crime, my Yamaha BB1025X.

And just for good measure, here is a video of us at my band's recent first show. The sound quality isn't terrific, but you'll get the idea!

I've got it top loaded with Chromes, I considered going through body, but I was afraid that the "break angle" on the B might be too much for the flatwound to take?

Also - rig/pedal info please!

I'm playing through these:

Into this GK 1001RB-II and a GK NEO412 (GK MB800 & Crate 410 are used for our acoustic sets)

Although, at tonight's rehearsal, I used my Mercalli & a tuner into my rig...it sounded just wonderful "un-effected" as well.

Hot damn! Nice!

I have strung chromes through body before, but I don't really think it makes much difference personally.

The merc through that NEO412 will be massive.

I don't hear a difference, but I did break the B and E when I had chromes on mine and strung thru the body. I use 2 x 12 neo gks, and its awesome
