So... from all the initial thoughts and reviews from the new models - the new Jazz bomb pickups are on the smooth/round/warm end of the tone spectrum?

Yes, and take volume well. More you turn it up. The better they sound. No harshness at all

A Fatfish separatist movement!

Those basses look really sweet - I cant wait to see the new Wattplower pickup configuration.

Between those two basses and the Dub King - Reverends short scale game is as strong as anyone else out there!

I thought about waiting for the newer Watt, but with no solid timeline to availability and my infatuation with the Fatfish...plus a great deal from Wildwood kinda made it a no brainer

I should add, the Decision P sounds amazing.

Some observations after playing it for about an hour or so:

The new pickups sound great - big and full solo'ed or blended.

There is very little loss of output in the middle position.

The sound is different to the Mercalli but not massively so. Maybe not as clanky or modern sounding but a bit smoother and still delivers a really diverse set of tones. This bass is gonna sound great cranked.

Seems the strap buttons are a new design.

This weighs a couple of pounds heavier than my Mercalli.

The description on the website and Andy Irvine's YT review are both spot on.

The fit and finish, like my Merc, are first class. Really impressed with the attention to detail. It really is a credit to the Reverend team that I could have just plugged this thing straight in tonight if I was gigging, without any set up.

I hadn't really thought about black as a colour I would like on these basses - but that is soooo nice!

Last night's outdoors gig. Kinda cool with a mighty 4'C on the clock. Thankfully we had over head heaters. The Decision fulfilled all my expectations and then some. These new PUs are loud. The sound was more growly and gnarly than I had expected with a bit of volume behind it but I just used the blend control to get the right tone. The blend knob is a great feature and so easy to use. All in all this is a definite keeper and a fantastic bass.

The same pickups are in the Fatfish and you’re right, they’re loud...in a good way...not an overpowering mids way, just clear and authoritative way, what’s tings are you using?

Just the factory fitted strings. They could be S.I.T.s but there was no label on the bass when I received it so they could just be generic. I have some new DR Pure Blues which I’ll put on when these lose their punch.
