My thoughts on the new Reverend basses.
I played every Bass offering and am extremely impressed with the sound/feel, build quality & finish options of these fine instruments. If I found myself shopping around it would be an easy choice to purchase a Reverend over other comparable company's. Pretty much anything a bassist would need can be found in the Bass line-up.
I am particularly smitten with the "Dub King" with it's 30inch scale it has a wonderful feel & the tones range from Upright to Rock-n-Roll/R&B. I WILL own one!
The "Justice" totally nails a modern tone that Rock/Funk players could easily find themselves comfortable with and the Twin Blade J style pick-ups are fantastic!
The "Decision" is the one for you P-Bass Lovers and using the Split Brick pick-up alone pretty much nails the Old School Vibe. Basically a PJ set-up using both pick-ups gives you all of the other tones you could ever need for Rock/R&B and anything else for that matter.
The "ThunderGun" has a Unique Rock-n-Roll tone all its own grind & punch are an understatement and this model shares a bit of its tone with the "Mercalli" as they share the same pick-ups. The new models have the traditional headstock while the first offering of the Gun has the Upside Down headstock which while visually Cool it may offer an issue with those of us who use Hipshot Drop Tuners. I would go for the newer model for this reason alone.
The "Mercalli" has a Great Sound with almost any tone being achieved with The Split Brick & Thick Brick Pick ups and the Blend Knob that all of the Reverend Basses share. I Love the Blend Knob and find my Mercalli to be an outstanding 5 string Bass.

Found a Thundergun and a Decision for a great price. I'm glad I found the comparison above from 2013. Unfortunately, I can't try both before buying. Anyone else have opinions/comparisons of Decision and Thundergun?
