The Reverend Club (part 8)

Found this at a local music store love it. Any words of wisdom or experience are always welcome.

Years ago I was at a bass forum meetup, with a bunch of players and a lot of basses being noodled on. Then someone had a 5L and just played an open low B. Just the deep full, badass sound of that one note made everyone in the room instantly stop everything and just stare at the amp. I've never seen anything like that before! The sound of a 5L is something special, and you just need to hear it for yourself. After I heard that one note, I hounded the owner until he sold me that bass. :D

Shot in the dark, but has anyone here happened to play/find a Wattplower mk II in the wild? The threads I found on the Wattplower had been updated recently enough, but basically left off with Mike just talking more w/ members about designing process of the bass, etc. last time I checked. I didn't recall any short reviews or members claiming to have their hands on one yet (I could be wrong, however).

Anyway, man I've been gassing for this bass hard off and on for a while now. I wish I could find one, slap some fresh rounds on it and hook it into my half-stack. Reallyyyyy interested in what that pickup combo/placement sounds like loud and clear. The only demo I found had the bass played with lots of muting, and along side a guitar so it wasn't easy to get an idea..

I played it and I liked it pretty well. For some reason the standard pbass setting sounded different that the sentinel (which I much preferred). The only thing I preferred on the watt was the neck pickup. That sounded great and better than the dark tone setting on the sentinel.

Heard it played when Watt was in town last October. All three settings were distinct and they all cut through the mix, the drummer wasn't playing soft.

I hear ya. I love tighter string spacing, especially at the bridge. The Wattplower is currently the only Reverend Bass that features this.
