Well I went ahead with my neck swap and it turned out fine. The red Decision ended up with a slight gap between the neck and body on the E string side, but nothing too serious. I picked them up yesterday and spent some time today setting up the yellow one.
My next step is to replace the Split Brick pickup with a P-Blade. I've got one with a pearl pickguard on the way direct from Reverend. Hopefully they will be here next week.
I'll be posting the Red Decision for sale (since I only wanted it's neck), but a guitarist friend of mine has first dibs if he wants it. It's pretty slick with the tort guard and roasted maple neck.
More pictures to come when the transformation is complete.

Just got my second reverend in as many months. A sentinel in mulberry mist! I’ve already done some recording with it and it’s one of the precision basses I’ve ever played. I compared it to a watt mk 2 and while I’ll say that I prefer the actual neck pickup on the watt to the deep tone setting of the sentinel, the other two settings on the sentinel are more to my preference. There’s more of snarl to the tone and a nice percussive quality. I’m super happy

I had to route out the cavity to make if fit the P-Blade. It was my first time routing a bass and I was a bit nervous, but it turned out close to perfect. With the pickguard on you just can't tell.

Can (or could) a Triad sound anything like a Gibson G3? Anyone compared them? The “Buck and a half” setting with all 3 pickups switched on sounds awesome. Maybe a rewired Triad could be similar.
Based on my experience with the triad and the demos I’ve seen of the G3, I’d say not exactly. The g3 has single clips pickups whereas the triad has 3 single coil spaced humbuckers. I think if you changed out the jazz bombs for some regular jazz pickups you’d be pretty close to a g3. Or changed the pickups to parallel wiring. I definitely heard some similarities but the triad has a thicker voice overall.
Do you guys with short scale basses use long scale strings or specifically short scale strings?

Love the look of that white Fellowship, especially with the reverse headstock but just couldn't justify another purchase.
Last minute gig on Saturday.....I finally got the Thundergun dialed in, found the right strings and set up. Sounded and played great.

I bet a white 5L with a gold pg and maple neck with original hardcase would look sweet hanging next to that.

White bass is a later build and s/n puts it around 2004, the black one is an earlier bass and is from 1999. A plus is it even came with an original case. Bass is in pristine condition, I can’t find any faults with it whatsoever. And just like my black bass, it sounds sweeeeeeeeet! Excited to play out with my “ Tuxedo “ basses!

I’ve seen more than one post about how good the 5L sounds and think some of that mojo comes from the pickup type and unique placement. The pickups seem to be around the MM sweet spot but with more separation between the coils and a reverse slant to tighten the lows and sweeten the highs. Color me interested.
