I think you did well with the Magic Eraser. Thats a fine 5L you've got there. In the future somebody will love how it's been nicely reliced with a beautifully aged finish.

So I have spent some time cleaning my Fish, the polymer rim was yellowed ( big shocker ). I used the Mr Clean Magic Eraser ( per recomendation by TB )with good success, but I want better LOL. Can I use steal wool, or is it a lost cause and " it is what it is "? Thanks for your time.

I would think steel wool would scratch the plastic?

It is a very nice looking bass but why is there a multi way switch on a single coil pickup? Is it a mute switch?

It's different tone settings essentially. Towards the neck is darker and bassier. Middle is standard. Towards the bridge is brighter and stringier. It uses capacitors in the circuit to make changes.

It's not a single coil, use the google

I've had my triad for about a week now and I have to say I've been really impressed. The bass sounded a little dark at the store but I was really intrigued by the 3 pickups. Once I was going through my own gear the pickups do sound more lively and open. Definitely still thick but not dark. Still might switch them out for more traditional jazz bass pickups but I've been liking it a lot so far.

I played the Raymond and Mercalli 4 stringers at the start of the year and was very impressed. Close to pulling the trigger but on which one? J/MM or P/MM?

Can anyone tell me the weight of their Reverend and what the stock strings are? I know the stock gauges are 45-100.

That's a tough question. We're not sure what strings are on them when they come from the factory. We only change them if the strings are bad. Which happens often. When we change them here, we put S.I.T. Powerround Nickel on them.

I just realized there was a typo in the original answer... These if they replace the factory strings during QC: SIT Strings - Hand Crafted Instrument Strings

I grabbed a couple in back. The Mercalli weighed 8.8, The Raymond weighed 8.6

I guess I'm back in the club. I purchased these two Reverend Decisions in the last month. Took a while for both to show up. My plan was to swap the necks and pickguards, keep the powder yellow with the bound and blocked neck and sell the red one.

Unfortunately there are differences in the neck heels and pockets. I had a local luthier take a look. He figured $300 Canadian to enlarge the pocket on the yellow one and align the neck properly, perhaps move the bridge over a bit after that. I figure it might be about the same price to fix up the red one as well. The neck fits the pocket better, but is misaligned with the body.

So now I'm hemming and hawing about getting the work done. When I set myself a goal, I like to see it complete. I just love that yellow and love bound and blocked necks.
