Just got my Fellowship in the other day:
Really solid bass. It's at my tech's now getting a nice setup and some flats. The bass is really light. This is actually my second one. I purchased a black one off of reverb at "new" condition and it came in really bad shape. Seller replaced it with a white one that was in better shape but not perfect (and gave me a partial refund), however it was unopened so this might be the fault of Reverend QC. NBD though, I'm happy with the bass and can't wait to get it back.

I had a 4 string rumblefish xl that was just a bit neck heavy. All my newer ones, wattplower, decision 2, mercalli 4 and 5 are very well balanced.
I had the nickel lo riders on my Mercalli 5. I like them.
I used some tape wounds on it once too. Didn't like those at all.
I know this might be a stretch. I've got a Reverend Justice in Creme with a 3 ply black pickguard. Any Justice owners want to trade pickguards? Looking for something different. Anyone have any experience buying a replacement Reverend pickguard without breaking the bank?
Yep, I have run Chromes on both of my Mercalli 5's (strung trough body), they sound great right out of the package, and they get slightly warmer as they break it...I personally LOVE the soloed neck pickup with these strings, very P-bass flavored, but they sound great soloed in the bridge pick up too! (I'm typically running a blend of about 70/30 neck to bridge.
So I just purchased a Rumblefish R5L, waiting anxiously for it to arrive. Been reading up on them on the Reverend Club. I see them called either a 5L or R5L, are there two different models, or is it the same bass just called two different things?

Great score! What color? R5L and 5L are the same.
I had one of the first R5Ls way back in 1999, green with a gold pickguard, boy do I wish I'd kept it! I got a Mercalli 5 later on but didn't really like it. The Rumblefish were/are awesome.
Hey all! Here's my latest review featuring my Reverend Fellowship Me'shell sig. It's a sweet bass!
My Rev 5 is now my favorite 5 string.
Now that is an impressive smattering of basses!
So I received my R5L and it is sweeeeeeet, S/N# 00872 and R5L# 54. Haven't had a chance to spend a lot of time with her right now because of work, but the short time I did it yielded some sweet tones! Bass is in overall great shape for it's age, but I did see something on the bottom that made me raise an eyebrow. It looks like some very fine cracks in the polymer rim ( please see below ). I can't feel a thing when running my fingernail across them, so I don't think it's anything serious, what do you guys/gals think?
Fun fact...that's the same model bass that was used to record the Dear Evan Hanson Soundtrack, and is also the only bass used for the Broadway show (when Broadway still existed....yikes). Take a listen to the soundtrack. It sounds incredible (and the bass playing is stellar).
Also, I wouldn't stress about the bottom. That'll be fine.
So I have spent some time cleaning my Fish, the polymer rim was yellowed ( big shocker ). I used the Mr Clean Magic Eraser ( per recomendation by TB )with good success, but I want better LOL. Can I use steal wool, or is it a lost cause and " it is what it is "? Thanks for your time.
