Ok...... Oh and lol the Sam ash 12 mi from me has ALOT of them :) went to play... And they had a jetglo 09 which I love... Too bad Im broke! Lol and the thing that cuts the bass is awesome! I hope to be a member of this club someday XD

Chris Squire was the reason I wanted to become a bassist & wanting a Rickenbacker bass. Now if Icould just get his sound I would be a happy man.

Chris appeared on a "Star Licks" interview video. Where he described how he uses the pick very close to his thumb so that his thumb hits the string just after the pick giving a slight harmonic to the note. That and all the backline kit he uses. Last few times I've seen him play he has been using a Marshall head,4X12 cab? plus others I couldn't identify.

He is also the reason I got into Ric basses. A 4003 and a CS Ltd edition.

Squire, McCartney, Entwistle... all great reasons to own a Ric (and why I do). Though my 4003 doesn't see nearly as much action as my Laklands, I still love it... I'd have rocked that live before I got those, but "Thela" just didn't work on it...

Hi all!!!

Just got my sticky hands on an '09 4003 FG, I've previously owned an '05 4003 MG, an '03 4003 FG and a '01 4001v63. Hard to compare those basses when they're no longer here, but RIC sure have some good things going on lately. The fireglo finish is so nice, they've gotten rid of much of the pink that my '03 had, the '09 is darker, more like montezuma brown, although not that dark. Maybe more like Autumnglo? Fretboard is definitely darker, looking MUCH better IMO. The neck is so sweet, mine don't have the new thinner two-piece laminated neck, but I wouldn't want it any skinnier. Anyway, just wanted to share, enjoy the (bad) pic, although it don't do justice.

And BTW, it sounds killer with Chromes :D Had to adjust the nut a bit, it was way too high on the D and G. D was also too narrow, the stock D string is obviously narrower than the Chromes .065.

Nice specimen. I like that Rickenbacker has improved the FG paint jobs from the 03 models, and have gone back to making the inlays go all the way across the fretboard. Smart move IMO.
