Is it possible Rickenbacker will bring back the 4003FL- fretless, I mean seriously they have been doing there bread & butter instruments for awhile now please bring back the fretless, I really, really, really, really want one. is this asking to much!!!!

Try an Ibanez GWB205. It's a totally different look, but in the same ballpark playability-wise, with narrow string spacing and a really fast straight neck. The heavier ones are a bit more Ric-like tonally (more presence and punch) than the light ones.

I would prefer to see a 4004 fretless, myself.

This '08 was a case queen owned by a collector until about a month ago when I bought it.

Now it gets out and gets played every day.

Yep, that's an exceptionally beautiful board. I've never even SEEN an FL in person, ever, anywhere. I need to get out more.
