Very sharp! How about a full size picture? That's the first Montezuma I've seen with the vintage neck pickup.

Is it an actualy vintage neck pickup or is it just the vintage toaster pickup cover over a non-vintage pickup. . . The spacing itself is also 1in formt he neck instead of 1/2 i thgotuh all the vintage ones were the 1/2in spacing.

Although I'm not a Ric expert, I'm told the approx 1" distance from the fingerboard is the standard for the 4003 of recent years. The new V63 and V64 models have it 1/2" closer, as well as the Chris Squire (thanks Don). I've noticed a couple other 4003's in this thread that have the vintage pup in the same location as mine.

Also, the adjustments at the bridge that brings the foam to the strings- what is the purpose of that? (Hope i'm not sounding dumb here...)

As far as I know, the bridge has a build in "mute" system, raise the foam to dampen the strings and you have a different sound (pretty much no sustain) It's fun to play with from time to time.

Very nice Ricks people! That burst looking one a few posts up just kicked in the GAS big time.

My guitar player friend has a mint Paul McCartney Rick sig model and he insists I play it. I feel almost not worthy to pick it up but wow what a fantastic instrument. I must have a Rick!!! Maybe I can take some pics of the Paulie McC bass, post them here, and pretend its mine... :D

I'm so frustrated, I removed my Rick pickguard to ship it away to get it signed by RUSH (which will be so awesome) and now my other basses aren't bringing me joy. I want to play my RICK! But it doesnt work so well with all the wiring flopping out.... end rant.
