if it's white, it should have a black truss rod cover probably. pickguard also black.
You can see the cavity? It's probably a pickguardian [Invalid Link Removed] pickguard then. He might've took off the black truss rod cover off to use for his other Rick bass or to sell it because black covers are only on some models.
Heck if i was you, i'd check if there's a Rick-like serial number on the input jack plate and under the bridge pickup just in case.
