Well, the world continues to change.I think I'm like a lot of you and peruse eBay to see what's out there in the way of basses. In my opinion, it used to be a place where you could find quality instrument at a price point that you were willing to pay. Now all you see are ridiculously priced Buy It Now's and the super sketchy "From Japan" listings that are just a joke. For example, do a search on "Sadowsky Bass" and literally 30 listings come up that are so wrong that I just laugh. 3 or 4 might use the same picture and you'd be a fool to buy from these outlets.
It's really a shame. Ebay used to be so cool. Now, it's just a waste of bandwidth.

The real question is whether the listings that used to be there still are. I think so. But, you have to now use more filters in your searching to get the listings that you are used to seeing. Checking the "Used" box and a regional box, such as "North America" will get you roughly the listings that you are used to seeing. Hope that helps.
