This is a thread of appreciation for the Sadowsky 5 string neck :hyper:. Neck shape and thickness is very importent to me and these necks have to be one of the most comfortable and solid necks I have ever played infact I would say they are my favorite neck design. You have done well Roger ! :bassist: My next Sadowsky is going to be a 24 fret 5 string , I am looking to get an older one with the old school really flat and wide neck, their diffrent then the current design necks.

I'm a believer! The shallow "C" profile with 12" radius is PERFECT for me. Nino is also onto something with USACG. My latest Valenti feels like a Sadowsky neck. Incredible.

Kevin... my next one would be a 24-fretter too! I just have to clean house first, then wait. Are you going for an NYC or a Metro?

I love my MV5's neck! It took me a minute to get used to the jumbo frets but now that I am, I won't let this thing out of my sight. :ninja:

Last time I was at the shop, I played a NYC 5-24 P/J (#4467) and I was in love. Not only is it only 7.50 lbs. but it's probably got one of the nicest necks I've ever encountered on a bass. I can't imagine what the older ones are like. For me, the wider and flatter, the better! :D

I've always thought that the front of the neck is equally sexy with the wide board and the big dots. I remember that thread a while ago about whether people preferred the 'chopped' Sad-style FB end or if they liked the rounded Fender-style end. I've always thought that the flat end just makes it look hoss! Don't even get me started on the headstock. The Sadowsky neck is truly a work of art!

You got that right , these necks are truly great quality and well designed. I love the look of the double dots on the 12 fret, that added space looks pretty cool.:bassist:

I love em, too. Ive got a newer 5 with the thicker headstock that Roger reshaped to make the nut 1 3/4rs vs. the usual 1 7/8ths. I also have a think headstock 24 fret JJ that I got from Nino. The black 24 fret neck is flatter feeling. Both Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 24 Fret is on the 3000 series, and the neck is a dream but I would love to try the older ones. I also have a 4000 series and I feel the neck a little different maybe its just appreciation but I feel the 24 fret neck more comfortable than the Vintage neck, even though I think they are pretty much the same.
