The Sadowsky 5 string neck appreciation thread !

My 24 Fret is on the 3000 series, and the neck is a dream but I would love to try the older ones. I also have a 4000 series and I feel the neck a little different maybe its just appreciation but I feel the 24 fret neck more comfortable than the Vintage neck, even though I think they are pretty much the same.

They are great necks ! :bassist:

The Sadowsky 5 string neck is still by far my favorite.
Have you tried an MTD 535?

My hands felt more comfortable on the asymmetric profile of my old 535 even though it was a 35" scale bass. It would be way cool if Roger offered an asymmetric option... it would motivate me to buy another NYC Sad... but I'm sure that's way more trouble than it's worth. Few manufacturers offer asymmetric neck profiles, and not that many bassists have tried 'em, so I'm sure demand is not significant.

Again, I adore the neck on my Sadowsky P5. All I'm saying is that I'd adore it a little bit more if the profile was asymmetric. :)

P.S. I'm not trying to say "asymmetric is better". That, like any other feature, is subjective.

Yeah I have played on a few MTD 5's and they were on the flatter side , I think they were alittel thiner then the Sadowsky necks.
