THE SHORT SCALE BASS THREAD!

the Epiphone at the top of the page is KILLER.

+1.
When I saw this video on YouTube for FrettedAmericana, I ended up with serious Newport B4B gas.

Man, you guys aren't the first to suggest I leave that finish, but I'm dying to get under it and see what's below. I sanded a little patch on the back and I think it might be an original sunburst, so I'm diving in later in the winter when I have some time!

drbassman,

Can you please repost a link to a picture of your lime green "Cup of Fungus" Mustang bass? I'm the guy that painted that bass lime green and painted the COF logo on the pickguard in 1989. I'd love to see that bass again, but the link to the pic on PhotoBucket no longer works (from post #260 in this thread)

That Mustang bass was originally a sunburst. It belonged to the dad of one of my friends. The dad stopped playing bass years earlier, so he let his son have the bass. We were in a band called "Cup of Fungus", so we needed a kick-ass looking bass. I intentionally painted it with a brush to give it that sloppy "I don't give a damn" feel. :)

I wish Chris had sold that bass to me, but if you could repost the picture of it, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

Okay you short scale guys. Hit me with the closest short scale out there to the sound of a fender jazz. I'm using an american jazz through an ampeg svt and I love it. I've got the short finger curse though so I'd really love to find something that is easier to play. I know nothing is going to match the sound of my jazz with Fralins but I would sacrifice a little to not have to work so hard. What ya got for me?......a mustang maybe?

Other than that I don't know of any, but I'm sure others will come along with some more examples.
