Thanks for the comments guys! The ovangkol looks MUCH nicer than I ever thought it would judging from pictures. I can't wait for some new strings to arrive (from bassstringsonline of course!) so I can do my own set up on it. Anybody wanna buy some minty Elixirs?
I want one, my local store has one in stock. Now here is the problem...
The only way I can afford the SR750 is to trade in my SR 300 and 305 against it.
Pros
1. I have a prettier bass
2. Better pups and preamp
3. I love the walnut/maple look
Cons
1. I loose my only 5 string
2. I will go an extra $150ish in debt
3. I go from 6 basses to 5
Think it is worth it, or not. I am more concerned of the sound and overall construction more so than the looks

With the 750 you get Bart pickups which are going to sound very different. It's up to you to say if they are better or not. I loved them first time I played them but am now finding that they are very thin in the treble frequency. I've spent a lot of money and am going to spend more trying to find a way to fix this - new pickups, new pre - whatever. The quality of the build will be a bit better, especially in the frets, but Ibanez is amazing with the quality of it's lower levels so sometimes that step is not as big as you might think.

Yeah that's about the kind of ramp between pups (or above a bridge pickup like the Gary Willis signature). But the one Norcal Dog uses is pretty unique, since it covers both pickups and the space between it.

Ah sorry, pardon my noobility. I wasn't sure if you were referring to that specific one or ramps in general.

Im familiar with ramps just have never seen one with built in pickups or i guess it could just be a ramp and piezos in the bridge?

That SR Premium sixer is absolutely gorgeous. I'm still in love with my humble SR370M and have finally decided to trade the SRX700 on a another 370 or a 400QM for a backup. For what I do it's just perfect. But I would love to have an SR1400 just for playing at home.
Just got my SR500SM today! Beautiful bass and sounds awesome! HUGE upgrade over my Ibanez TR50.

it's just my take on a ramp dealie
on a couple of other basses i own i run nordy fatstacks & big singles, & i always loved how the pickups felt under the fingertips, when i ran 'em up real high where they were almost touching the strings. unfortunately the pickups are way too hot at that height ( obviously ) so i just dropped 'em back to where they needed to be & went around that hurdle. i now have ramps on the majority of my basses with various pickup configurations, i like 'em alot.
the bass is a Mikro & will be dropping a set of Delano's in it soon. plan on picking up another Mikro 5er & defretting it.
Yup gas won, here is the proof, also a Fender Zone 5 decided to tag along for the drive home

Picked this up on local CL last week at an obscenely low

It's 15 years old, spent most of its life in a closet
and looks and plays great. I'm not sure about the pups yet soundwise. They're a little muddy, not well defined. Barky at times. Ibanez pickups. (active)
Overall condition is a 9.9 our of 10 and the neck is to die for. Super thin yet very stable. Ultra fast.
Body is Mahogany and nice and lite too.
If I could put this neck on my Fender Jazzes I'd be in hog heaven.
