Awesome set up - quite pro BUT: that is a very heavy bass - for a grown-up, let alone a kid - so it would be a good idea to buy her a lighter Ibby bass for study and regular rehearsals - I for ex have the same SRT905DX, but I use a SR605 for band practice because after keeping the SRT strapped for more than 2 hours it starts hurting my back...just my 2 cents...

Or she can just sit when she plays. Just a thought.

I bought an SR700 recently and the GC only had one in stock so I bought the display. I'm OK with that, it wasn't dinged up, but because it wasn't in a box, my question is: Should it have come with wrenches for adjusting the bridge and truss rod?

Yes it should have. I would go back to the store and request they give those to you even if they have to pull from a current bass in stock or order you a set from Ibanez.

When I ordered an SX bass online, it did.

If I ever get another 6 stringer, that's the one I'm going to get. I doubt I will, but if so, that's definitely the one. They're a little big for my hands, unfortunately, so five seems to be the cap.

Been loving my 2004 SOUNDGEAR SRX3EXQM1 in I believe cherry sunburst on quilted maple top for about 2 years now. Love the ferociousness of this bass.

I played a little in the early 80s but got lost in LIFE. I am trying to rehab my left hand after a real bad motorcycle accident 5 years ago. Playing is the funnest rehab yet.

Love TB and would love to join the Soundgear club.

Beautiful instrument! Good luck with the rehab. I had a bad left hand injury as a kid and playing bass really is the best rehab there is. It can be hard work but you'll never regret it

This question has me wondering about the Soundgears made in Japan vs. other countries packaging them with/without tools, or perhaps a HSC.

Ya I going to get a lighter cheaper bass for practice and the smaller gigs. She will only use that bass for the bigger shows.

Why the switch to the EMG? How is that different from the Bart pre?

Staccato and everyone else asking about what comes with the bass - They all come with wrenches and a cheap cable out of the box. The Premiums come with that "special" gig bag (whatever that is) and the Prestiges come with an HSC. The Prestige HSCs are amazing, I have one for my 905. When a bass is bought and it doesn't have the tools, it's usually a floor model, the tools tend to not make it out of the box on floor models and get tossed. It happened all the time when I worked at Scam Ash.

How does the emg preamp feel?

lOVE IT BQC PREAMP WITH TWO VOLUMES . I WILL BE SWITCHING TO BARTOLINI 5.4 PREAMP IN THE NEAR FUTURE JUST CAUSE THE BQC WAS PULLED FROM ANOTHER BASS AND i NEED TO GET THAT BACK UP AND RUNNING.
