Sorry I meant the older 80s/90s Ibanez with that setup. But yes, mine is the one with the ADX5s and the Vari-mid III (Spelling?).
The 885 is on board for delivery so I'll have a play and decide.
I'll take a pic next to my Roadstar later today! This will be my third Ibanez bass.
All three of my basses have Audere preamps in them. They are pretty easy on batteries. I think the big selling points on Audere preamps is they're prewired, easy to install, inexpensive, sound great and have active blending. Your pickups would connect to the preamp in stereo so when you use the blend control you get a true 60/40 or 30/70 mix for example. I also appreciate the tiny but smooth turning pots - they make for easy install. The EQ frequencies are well thought out as well.
EMG does very nice easy to install preamps.
The Invalid Link Removed uses concentric potentiometers and has following controls:
- Concentric sweepbable Mids potentiometer
- Concentric Lows/Highs potentiometer
You have to supply your own balance and volume controls (you can easily reuse the one you already have on your bass).
The Invalid Link Removed is identical to the BQC Control above, but also has balance and volume potentiometers prewired for you.
- Concentric sweepbable Mids potentiometer
- Concentric Lows/Highs potentiometer
- Active balance potentiometer (for active pickups only)
- Master volume potentiometer
The Invalid Link Removed is identical to the EMG BQC System above, but it has the balance potentiometer for passive pickups.
- Concentric sweepbable Mids potentiometer
- Concentric Lows/Highs potentiometer
- Active balance potentiometer (for passive pickups only)

Got that SR4605 in today, and man, is it pretty! Definitely not as bright or "neon" as others have talked about, but more like a more vivid amber shade. It set up easily, but I'm not sure if I still dig the skinny/"chunkier" feel of SR necks. My Schecter has a wider neck, but flatter, and my ESP is wider still, but also on the flatter side. 17mm is my preference (I moved the ESP's Hipshot from 18 to 17), but the new adjustable spacing on bridge units on this Prestige are awesome. Because of the lighter ash body, however, there's neck dive, which may be alleviated from some Hipshots I have on a shelf. Everything's as solid as a rock, so I'll have to see on Sunday how she sounds. I just got recruited for two shows this Sat, and need to learn 15-16 new (to me) tunes by then. Luckily, they're general rock/pop songs, and the band is already very grateful for my help (their bassist has covid).

I have the latter on two other basses, but the new Hipshots I have are reversible for either side (and they're the same fit as Resolites).

Believe it or not, the whole package sounds very similar to an '01 Prestige BTB that I used to own. The sound was really on-point when completely flat, and then just got better from there. It's dubby on the lowest mid-switch setting, then around 450hz the sound is full, and what miiiiiight be my favorite...the 800hz? frequency. The sound.is almost Spector-like, with lots of snarl, and yet, more fullness. There's a nice, inherent smoothness throughout the entire range, but it can definitely bark/get nasty if needed. The pickups are arched/radiused, too...LOVE the even response and feel. Seems like there's any sound on tap, with nothing boomy or shrill, and with no noise that I could hear.
I'll get a vid for some tones when I can this weekend.

Installed Hipshot Ultralites, and now there's way less neck dive. 
I also put on new knobs...orange "Autumn Pearl" from Xcentric. They're subtle, but under bright lights, they compliment the fretboard.

I noticed that the Prestige badge was preventing the A tuner housing from sitting level, so I had to remove it and put it in a baggie. *sniff, sniff* At the "MADE IN JAPAN" writing is there!

Don't feel bad...I did the same with the Premium truss rod cover as each of 3 mounting screws sits directly beneath a string. Derp! I also installed HipShot Ultralites. Hate to feed your OCD but did you notice a couple of the machine head housings slightly overlaps the outer perimeter of the headstock? Same with mine.

That's the truss cover issue with Cirruses, too...blah. At least the Prestige badge doesn't cover an ugly hole/cavity on the headstock. The truss cavity is hardly noticeable at the heel. Yep, I realized the slight tuner run-over, but that actually doesn't bother me. The bass set up great, and with the high-mid frequency selected, snarls like an absolute beast. I like this version way better than the voicing of the fancy wenge/mahogany 5006. That one got sent back, because it was too dark. They must've voiced this preamp differently. Who knows, as I've noticed this with same models with different woods only, that maybe, just maybe, the ash body carries over the aggression from the preamp, therefore being the difference, as opposed to the darker mahogany and wenge. Regardless, this is one bad bass.
