Very cool. Been doing research on the SRT800 looks like it's a neck through SR with a Jazz neck and EMG's.

TinIndian - Very nice, I like the SRTs a lot like my SR905. I've been looking at the SRT905DX as a possible workhorse, I just wish the had the option for string through body like my SR905 does. I'm glad they're finally offering neck throughs more now.
Doctor J - WOW. that bass is stunning. I've been looking for a '96 1305PM for years now. Everytime I find one, it slips through my fingers. Anyway, Beautiful bass. Love it.
aproud1 - I've looked into the SRTs and after having the SR905, I think if I ever end up buying a brand new bass, I'm gonna go with an SRT for sure.

PS: The SRTs are a tad different from a regular SR..the neck is pretty different (it's fatter and feels shorter - probably due to the NT construction) and the sound is also not the same (to me the SRT tone is growlier and the EQ sounds like it has some sort of compression on).
I love my SRT805 and it is my main gigging bass. Out of 4 sets I play it in 3 of them.
Very comfortable neck and body shape. Wide range of tones If I want a more J sound I roll to the bridge pup and up to the neck pup I get a more P bass sound. the EQ is very flexible too. I was always a Jazz neck kind of guy until recently so the neck was a big deal to me when looking at 5ers.

I don't think that is true. I thought it seemed a little "mellower" than a regular SR but it is pretty growly.
The neck is definately thicker, but I find it very comfortable and I don't have big hands. One thing I love is the heel on these. The transition is really smooth and "natural" feeling.

Cheers guys. Might as well put a pic up of my old SR3006E up since there's a bit of love for the SR's at last. Lovely bass but it turned out there were two too many strings on it so I sold it on a few years ago. Great bass though.
For me, the wider the neck is, the thinner it has to be for it to be comfortable for me to play.
5-string SR basses are perfect for me. If I was playing a 4-string, I might go for a SRT because the neck is narrow so the thickness would actually be a plus rather than a detriment.

As to the difference between the SRT necks and the SR necks on the 5ers, Yes the SRT are thicker, and I can definitely notice the difference between my SR905 and my 1015 & 885, but I find the difference to be negligible. I actually prefer to play my 905, even though it's thicker.
Again guys, I have the number all updated, if you don't have it, check the first post on page three, I update the list every time I do numbers.

I'll take a number. 1996 SR800. Korean made, but its definately got the mojo. Plays and sounds better than the 2006 SR 1000 I had. Sold it and kept the 800.
