The model is SR500. The acronym refers to colour/finish = my guess is that it means "poplar burl brown burst flat". It's an exclusive Guitar Center limited edition IIRC.
Sweet! Congrats as well. The bass sure is nice. Great tone and the neck is just so quick. Are you worried about dinging the finish at all? Doesn't seem like a lot of coating on the wood. More like a varnish or oil coating.
I think those tend to wear better and more naturally than crisp poly finishes. I'm going to play and enjoy it, whether or not mojo is being added!

Here is a pic of my SRA500(discontinued) and my SR300DS. I love them both!! my 300DS was my first bass (im getting ready to change out pups and pre-amp). The SRA, i just love that thing. It has dual passive humbuckers, and an active 3 band EQ. they both sound great over my Ampeg svt350 head with an Ampeg 4x10, and 1x15.

Here is my SR505. I replaced the cosmo black bridge, knobs, and strap buttons with flat black hardware from Ibanez and replaced the machine heads with black Gotoh machine heads. The machine heads fit perfectly and the screw holes lined up. Strung with DR black beauties. I plan to refinish with a black oil finish. Action is low and plays great!

Just joined the Soundgear club this week. Found the awkwardly-named sr500pbbbf. Try pronouncing THAT acronym.
I am was in my local GC this weekend and saw a 5'er in that finish and the pics really don't do it justice. That is a BEAUTIFUL bass in person. I almost want to buy one just for the finish. If they ever make that one in a 6'er I will buy it.
Yes it is. Also, the transparent black SRA5 that noon3000 posted is the same way... i had one just like it and it is stunning up close in person.
Just thinking earlier, my old 97 SR406 has its battery in the same cavity as the preamp. If I upgrade and get the new CAP hardware and EQB-IIID preamp, will there be a way to put the battery in the cavity as well? Hopefully someone here has some experience in this vein, because I don't want to spend tons of money to find out it can't work. Thanks guys!
